As the betrayal begins to unfold, Desi is left in complete devastation. With a gunshot wound threatening to end her basketball career; she finds herself depleted, as the search for her shooter is underway. But when she’s forced to face a heart-rending loss, she falls into a depression that she fears she may not be able to recover from. With Chris by her side, they relocate in hopes of leaving their detrimental past behind them. However, they soon learn that no matter how far you run, the past always catches up to you. Desi and Chris fight with everything in them, trying to hold their relationship together. But in the end, will love be enough?
I’m so glad that this series only consisted of 2 books. Too often, today’s authors do not know how to cut out all of the fluff and just deliver a well put together book. When the story is over it’s over. Do not drag it out. Nyeirra did that, she wrote a very romantic compelling story. It was perfect. I’ll even give Desi a pass because she definitely worked my nerves but she did go through a lot. Chris was a standout guy. He stuck by her side. I’m glad there wasn’t any infidelity to deal with. That’s always a plus.
This was a damn rollercoaster of a book. Desi and Chris are settling in Raleigh after a devastating loss. However, they are definitely being tested by the powers of past and present. Jamel, Desi ex is showing the hell out and not in no good way. The fool has lost his mind but every dog has his day. There was also resolution with Lucky's character.
My only complaint is that I wish the author hadn't done a time jump and that we as the readers could of experience/read that year after the lost. That's it this was and unexpected enjoyable series
The second book was a fast ride down a steep hill and back up again. Chris and Desi needed a break and could not seem to catch one if they tried. I was happy Jamel's dirty deeds would eventually catch up with him. My only complaint, this story was not as tidy as the other story. And a lot of violence that never seemed to stop. A little more loving would have helped.
This ok was the perfect ending to the series. Poor Desi went through so much pain, but Chris stayed right there with her. The book was well written, flowed well and definitely didn’t seem rushed. Although Desi and Chris went through many obstacles, their love was enough to overcome them all. Jamel got just what he deserved in the end. I’d definitely recommend this series to read.
What a roller coaster ride. SHEESH 😲. The things Chris and Desi went through would be more than enough to break up any couple, yet they stood the many test thrown at them.
I liked that Chris friends wives welcomed Desi as family with no judgement.
That Jamel was brutal, YIKES!
I liked this 2nd book and how real it felt. It wasn't your "typical" romance and the nature of Desi & Chris relationship happened in its own way. I like that the author did that.
This series made Nyerra Become one of my favorite authors. When I read the first book, I was rushing to read the second. I can’t wait to see what else she comes out with in the future. I loved everything about the character development and the books kept me on the edge of my seat. This series was definitely a must read
I love that the finale is ready right after I finish book 1. There were many hurdles to still overcome in book 2 for Desi and Chris. With each unexpected twist and revelation I was drawn farther into their world. I didn’t want it to end!
Well written, page turner. There is something everyone can relate to in these characters. We all experience painful situations and it is great to have your significant other/ life partner hold you down.
Man, Ms. Nyerra took me on an emotional rollercoaster! This book had me on the edge of my seat biting my nails! Wonderful conclusion to a drama field love story. Kudos to you Author Nyerra! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
What a happy ending and happily ever after. The whole story was filled with all the drama you could imagine but knowing love can conquer all was their ending. What a read!!!
The storyline was awesome. I could hardly put the book down. The characters were a story by themselves. Mel believed he was invincible, I never thought that he would ever kill his cousin. Again, a great read.
Nyerra, good series. To see Desi become such a strong woman. Chris was such a great guy. Too many times things just don't work out. This couple got tested and tried over and over and over. Love conquered everything in the end. 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Why you got me boo hooing? Baby i was crying along with Desi now. I hate how some things turned out. But this definitely was a page turner that i enjoyed
What a whirlwind ride this story was! Wow. It was like watching a movie, it was so much going on! I loved that Desi and Chris moved to Raleigh because I got to catch up with my faves Haze & Anissa and Vice & Layah. And I loved to see them as Black entrepreneurs on the grind. But I still wasn't expecting their story to unfold that way towards the end. Sheesh. That was some vendetta! I'm just glad Desi and Chris got their HEA, Desi sure deserved it. I definitely enjoyed this story. 5 ⭐️ Stars!
Nope 🙂↔️, this read was awful…”Pain Mixed With You 2” (2.75 ⭐️’s) unfortunately, the sequel to “Pain Mixed With You” both books were urban ghosh! However, part two didn’t provide the clarity, continuity nor context to salvage the journey of this juvenile melodrama I expected 🥴🤦🏾♀️‼️Nevertheless, I commend this young author for sharing her creativity while building her catalog & brand💐 🙂.
