The book is partially useful.
The book covers some effective sorting methods when dealing with arrays, but fails to provide any code for linked lists. You will need an understanding of pointers and linked lists to understand the pertinent sections in this book. This book is more like the notes that they took in class, and won't help you if you don't already know what they are talking about.
