Reviewed By Jamie Lee Wandel for Readers’ Favorite Eazy Peazy Multiplication A Fun and Easy Method to Learn Multiplication Tables by Lakshmi Narayani is a math workbook and learning tool. A variety of methods for learning multiplication is presented. This handy book is particularly well-suited for second graders. It bridges concepts like addition and multiplication through a handful of useful hacks like counting by 5’s. At the beginning of the book, Lakshmi Narayani gives fun tips and tricks for each number, reminding us that Zero is the Hero and Nine is Magical! Each section presents a different method of learning multiplication. For example, arrays and drawing out the problem visually and using triangles with the three numbers in each problem are methods that help kids to see the relationship between factors and their product (in multiplication) and quotient and dividends (in the division problems). In Eazy Peazy Multiplication Tables, relevant math terminology is introduced without the clutter of lengthy descriptions. Simple graphic visuals are employed throughout, making the format is clear and easy to follow. The images are fun without distracting from the main focus of the book. I especially liked that there were opportunities to practice the various methods throughout the book. This book would make acceptable stand-alone material but I could easily envision it being used in a classroom as supplementary teaching material. If your child is struggling with multiplication, I would highly recommend Eazy Peazy Multiplication Tables. The included daily practice sheets are practical tools for children to exercise what they are learning. Lakshmi Narayani has delivered a resource that is easy to use and requires little guidance from an adult or teacher.
