Apparently there is some drama going on with this author and I can't support what she did. So I lowered my rating.

Although I like my mafia type stories a little darker, this was a nice read.

Jade is now the head of the family and learns that his father made an agreement with The Perez family to wed their daughter in order to keep business running smoothly.

Alexandrea doesn't want to marry Jade but ends up stowed away on his plane.

Although the two try to fight what they are feeling, they end up spending time together and getting intimate.

Will they do what is asked of them by their families or will end up parting ways and left dealing with the repercussions? Read on and find out.

When reading one of Susan's books always go in with the mind set to expect the unexpected. It will help with the panic attacks, trust me...lol I so thought that Jade was gonna be your typical douche bag new to the game mob boss, and I was right, for the first part of the story. As he evolved into a caring and concerned character I found myself drawn to him and liking him more and more. But Im sure Susan will make sure I hate him at least 2 more times before she ends this series.😁😉 Bring it on sister!! Lol.

My first book by this author and I'll be back for more! Jade lived the playboy life even as the head of the Cordova mafia family, until the family lawyer tells him of a contract his late father made for him to marry. Thats the last thing Jade wants, so he decides to go to Italy and come up with a way to get out of the marriage but keep the business contract alive, which he finds easier after meeting his new not so innocent and mouthy bride. Alexandrea knew from day one that her life was planned out for her to marry Jade, and shes not so innocent about their world as her father thinks. After both agreeing to null the contract Jade heads back to the states only hes not alone. Will they be able to find love? Well written story with engaging characters. Filled with action, suspense humour, twists, desire, and romance!

I liked the premise of the story which is why I chose to read this book. The characters were interesting with one trying to stop the momentous moment from happening and the other trying to ensure it does happen. That gave a touch of intrigue to the story which was heightened by additional suspense and drama.

Jade is a complex guy who just wants to be the ladies man for ever never getting married.

Alexandrea has always known that she would marry Jade.

There were issues right there after Jade loses his father and then finds out about Alexandrea.

After returning home with Alexandrea as a stowaway things get complicated for them both.

Some one on the inside is giving information. There is a rat. Who could it be though?

The book has it all. There is love, sex, intrigue, death, murder, and a twist that will have you going WTF.

Susan Has once again hit the nail on the head with this one. I love it!

I like Mafia books but this just felt like a kindergarten. It was an easy read and the narrator did well, but I'm afraid I found it unbelievable.

Jade would never  have been able to get away with stowing the mafia princess away for two months and risking his family for her? Utter rubbish. 

As for her, she was irritating and a mafia boss just wouldn't have put up with her silly antics.

Sorry it just didn't work for me.

I was joking earlier with my reviews about her writing bad boy romances. Then I realized I wasnt too far from the mark. Apparently she wanted to go into the billionaire/mob romance genre. I'm not sure if I expected it to go down like this but if you've read one of those, you've read all of them.

In my experience of reading billionaire romances they rarely deviate from the same path, and this was definitely so. While the main character is definitely not the usual douchebag millionaire, having emotions in a heart that's not unique to these genres either.

For those who haven't read mob/billionaire stories I'll break down the two categories.

A. He's rich douchebag who has power and has no heart and hasn't ever felt bad for killing people meets a woman who brings him back to life and injects him with feelings. He begins to become soft and he begins to show his emotions. The love interest slowly humanizes him. Even though this doesn't really make sense because serial killers are still people they're just people with a different moral code that often violates the law.

B. He's a billionaire, but he has feelings. He donates a lot of his money and does everything he can to cater to the good part of the world. He may be a mob boss but he's a mob boss who loves family members and donates to little family businesses. He looks tough but inside he's an emotional squishy sponge of sad all alone loneliness and dazzling good looks that make it so he can't trust anyone who actually says they love him because they're after his money and looks.

This one steered towards the second type but gave just enough of that variety that I didn't hate hate it, it's not a zero star or a half star for me it's just a bland one star. It exists, and of course she would go into this genre to try and sell.

That said, I can tell she has no idea what she's writing and really relied on either other people or just made stuff up as she went.

A quick but powerful mafia listen, Susan Meachen creates a world of danger and passion. Jade is now in charge of his family and finds out his father has him entered into a marriage contract to keep the families running smoothly. He certainly is not interested in having a wife picked for him. Alexandria has geared up for this day her whole life, but now realizes Jade may not be the man she thought he would be. Will Jade enter the marriage to keep not only his reputation intact, but the families aligned? Jade is not an easy one to like. It took me a while, but as the story progresses, he begins to grow on me. Alexandria is strong, but a little naive. She quickly figures out her fiancé is a tough one, but no impossible to crack. Will there be a true love? It's quick, not too dark fun listen.

Mark Harrietha brings it all to life with a fantastic narration. Perfect alpha voice, easily transitioning into a female voice with ease. He is one that is easy to listen to and tells a good story.

First of all the first impression you get of Jade is how arrogant and rude he is to both his staff and his friends. He is head of his mafia family and also a player. When he is forced into the position of having an arranged marriage, he is not a happy chappy. To say the least, having seen his own father’s arranged marriage. Alexandria, on the other hand is reconciled to the fact that she is to marry but the man she meets is not who she imagined. When she secretes herself on his jet things quickly go down hill and a war is on the cards. Murder, intrigue and a spy in the works makes this a very interesting story. No punches are pulled in this quite gritty story. This is a new author for me but one I will gladly read again.

I have read every book Susan has written and will always be first in line for the next one. This was an amazing addition to her collection. Jade and Alexandrea are having to come to terms about decisions made about their future. When your in a Mafia family you don’t have a choice. Or do you? Jade is refusing to be saddled with just one woman but Alexandrea has other plans. This one decision has changed the coarse of their lives forever. Settle in with your favorite beverage because once you start this book you won’t stop until your finished.

If bad boys and the Mafia bother you this book is not for you.

This is a new to me author, I really enjoy a good Mafia romance, the blurb sounded great, so I gave it a go. I’m so pleased that I decided to read this book as it’s far better than the blurb. Alexandrea and Jade make this book a definite page turner and I was held captive by my iPad until I had read the final word in the book. The plot moves a long at a nice easy to read pace and we see change and growth in the characters as the book progresses. If you enjoy a good Mafia romance, then grab this one as it’s fantastic.

I just love mafia reads and this one is great! His Wicked Way focuses on Jade, new head of the Martinez mafia upon his father's death, and Alexandrea, daughter of the boss of another mafia family, who were contracted to marry by their opposing families. Jade is against this marriage while Alexandrea finds she does like the man who she is to wed but she is determined for it to occur. The characters are complex and interesting. The storyline has mystery and suspense. I had a hard time putting down this mafia read.

Action-packed crime family story tangled with an array of emotions ranging from suspense, betrayal, sorrow, murder and love. Jade and Alexandrea both start out not wanting a marriage and both come off as spoilt selfish and uncaring about others. I had a hard time relating to the characters and I felt they as well as the story line lacked depth and development and could have done with some more explanations and descriptions. It was not for me.

I found it hard to finish this book. At first I felt like it was going to be favorite because Jade was portrayed as the perfect alpha male however I felt like this book was rushed and the characters fell in love without truly making a connection. I found Alexandra to be childish throughout the book and far from the strong headed and mouthy woman is started out in the beginning. The plot itself is good which is why I have it 3 stars but it felt rushed.

This story had me not liking Jade, initially, but as the story developed my heart softened toward her. Alexandrea is excited to wed and begin her life with Jade, as their families has pre-arranged. Jade wants no part of it, and tries to find a way out of the contract. He does not want to be tied to one woman for the rest of his life. As the story progresses, his heart softens toward her. I’m not going to tell you the whole story, but I highly suggest you read this intriguing and sexy page-turner.

The writing will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing the book in one sitting.
There is the perfect amount of angst and romance and grit to keep you hooked.

I loved how their relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways you never expected.
I would suggest picking up a copy asap, you will not be disappointed.

The only thought I had was what a waste of life! They both came off as spoilt selfish people who didn’t care who died as long as they got their own way! This could have played out so much differently and made a better story.

This is the story of Alexandrea and Jade. They are both from mafia families and are contracted to be married. While she is anticipating the marriage with hope, Jade is trying to get out of the deal. Wonderful characters that are easily likable and fun to get to know, and have undeniable chemistry. The story line is captivating, enjoyable and flows smoothly through the pages. With a crime family in the story you get suspense, action, and romance too. This is one you don't want to miss out on.
