Of Fates & Fables: The Complete Series

Rate this book
Book Boyfriends are real. Pass it on. Professional book blogger Romy Cartelli may have cried werewolf once or twice. Hell, she’s even cried vampire, warlock, and dragon their fair share of times—because, as every dedicated reader knows, one book boyfriend is never enough. And her followers love it… until they don’t.

Sure, Romy is being stalked by a sexy werewolf, but she’s got bigger issues to deal with. Like the fact that he might be a murderer. Or worse yet, that she got drunk and told all of her followers that werewolves actually exist. Then she fails to prove it.

Cue the trolling and the haters. Now Romy’s out to prove she’s not crazy and win back her followers. But as she sets out to clear her name, she’ll discover there are bigger dangers awaiting her than internet infamy.

This Boxed Set includes: The Girl Who Cried Werewolf, The Girl Who Cried Captive, The Girl Who Cried War and a brand new epilogue short story!

The Girl Who Cried Werewolf - I love a strong heroine and this is what we have in Romy. The story was full of humor, some of it tongue-in-cheek and some of it not so much. The mystery Romy tries to crack gets her deeply into trouble before she finds something she didn't realize she wanted. There are still bad guys to catch and supernatural beings to find as she trips her way through her tale. Not everything is as it seems, and that cliffhanger leaves us in a chokehold as we wait for the next installment in the series.
It's exciting and kept me interested. I wanted to be one of the college girls hanging with this group so I could be a part of everything they are. It was fun and scary and witty, and I didn't know which direction it would turn next. HH is a brilliant author in her own right but when joined by Bam, they produced a paragon of perfection. It was one thrilling moment after another along with all of the college hijinx and a mystery in the making. And it left me starving for more.

The Girl Who Cried Captive - What a brilliant second volume to this trilogy! Romy finds herself kidnapped and tossed into a cell, pushed beyond her limits, and feeling like she'll never escape. How will she get back to her friends, her newfound family, the werewolf she loves? It a game of wills and a search for strength deep within herself is she's going to survive. And her best friends, Talia and Anna aren't about to give up on her either.
What a terrific collaboration these two authors have going. This story is not only an intricate weaving of two imaginative minds but it's filled with angst and tension and humor that gives us an exciting adventure, one that leaves us hanging on the edge of our seats in anticipation for the last in the series.

The Girl Who Cried War - I thought this was a fitting ending for the series. There were exciting moments and surprises that were not only unexpected for the reader but also for the characters. The main characters were unique in so many ways. And the idea of Romy being an influencer made the story seem more believable. The name dropping (books, Hollywood stars, etc.) were a fun addition to the story and, I think, made things more believable because we are entering the world of a media influencer. The werewolves were sexy and endearing, the love stories sweet (sometimes bittersweet), and the ending to this series took us through the gambit of emotions. The characters and situations were fun, exciting, and sometimes frightening. I would love to learn more about some of the characters and some of the idiosyncracies of the shifting, but I realize this is how I feel at the end of any feel-good series. There's always more I want to know that would have the author writing in this world for years to come. Instead, I will be content that it was a happy ending. I look forward to more collaborations between these two authors.

I highly recommend this 3 book box set (the complete series)! Wow, this set ticks off all the boxes that us paranormal romance readers love! The humor is outstanding, it really balanced the story out. The flow is smooth and fast, the world building is good, the story pulls you in right from the start. This is a “can’t put it down” type of book. The main characters (Romy & Kash) are great, they feel like real people, not made up characters in a book (except for the werewolf part LOL). I liked that their relationship develops & has all the “feels” with it. Kash definitely makes good book boyfriend material. I liked the close friendship between Romy, Anna & Talia, they are the perfect best friends. Talia had me dying of laughter at times. I even liked Lynch (Kash's hot beta). And then there’s Justice, his humor also adds to the flavor of the story. They made great secondary characters that help the story be deeper & richer somehow. I don’t think I’ve ever loved secondary characters this much. The adventure comes to a fantastic conclusion that will make a reader cheer over all the HEA’s, but then cry because it’s finished with no more new stories about these fab characters! I could definitely see this as a movie. These authors did a wonderful job writing this seamlessly, that you don’t even realize it was co-written. Don't pass up this set!

Loved 💖

Such a good read i really loved this trilogy and all the characters esp Talia and Lynch such crack ups I was forever giggling throughout the books...
Romy is a book blogger particularly a love of fantasy so when she stumbles upon a real life werewolf she does what any normal person would do... try to expose them for the gram lol but unfortunately said werewolf aka Kash is always one step ahead of her and they end up playing a funny game of cat and mouse. But as girls start disappearing from campus Romy finds herself in the crossfire. When the very werewolf she's trying to expose is the same one to save her everything changes. But the evil they think is lurking in the shadows has actually been right under their noses all along and he wants everything Kash has. Romys friends have never believed her about her werewolf spotting but after she's taken they'll have to team up with the very creatures they think don't exist...
Together with unlikely allies they'll have to bring down the evil that threatens to take everything from them.
Can't wait to read Talia's novella love her sass 😍
Definitely recommend reading 📚

I didn't realize this series was in a complete set. So, first if you see this, trust me when I say you should go ahead and commit to the whole series out of the gate.

I know there are not a lot of reviews and it's unreal to me that more readers have not found their way to these books.

I was hooked from the beginning and read these in 3 days. The story questions if you should trust what you've been taught or give yourself the chance to be open-minded to the possibility that not everything is how it seems. I loved that this focused on two sisters, who are not raised together, pitted against each other, and have to navigate what that means for their futures. There is intrigue, romance, and action galore.

To sum it up: Fates and Fangs is epic, meets romantic, by way of calculating essence.

If that's too abstract for you - then just read the books. I promise you will not regret it.

This set is so entertaining! They've got a little bit of everything, & then some, A friend group that almost anyone can relate to, bad a$$ women, gorgeous men, fight scenes, "flirting", stalking, bad guys you hate, good guys you love (EVERYTHING). The bonus content added to the box set was a perfect way to cap it off (AND THEN SOME). Everyone needs friends like these! #TaliaIsMySpiritAnimal

I haven't read a series that made me laugh and love as much as this one in quite a while. This was an excellent debut for Bam Shepherd with the comical talents of Heather Hildenbrand to keep it going. The first book killed it with the characters and friendships and with this set you have all three so that you can binge and keep it going, plus the best epilogue at the end with some of our favorite characters. This series is going to be everything that you want!

I absolutely loved this series and having the completed set all together makes it the best way to binge so that way you get as many Midnight kisses as you need. Seriously you need to read this box set.

What sucks about this series is even thought it has a plot concept that has the opportunity to be great. The writing is vapid. You would assume character depth due to the trauma that occurs in the story, but all you get is cliche statements and unrealistic transitions to bad jokes. Sorry I read a lot of romance and I might even read the many other books and authors she mentions in her story. But this series was a disappointment. I will not be reading more by this author.

Authors, Heather Hildenbrand and Bam Shepherd have left me speechless with their AMAZING series, “Of Fates & Fables”. Seriously don’t miss these books. The authors do a fabulous job world building, character development, and keeping you sucked in the story. Romy and her group of friends are hilarious, loyal, determined, and full of surprises. What did I like about this set? I liked everything about this set. With the set like this, you don’t have to stop to look for the next book in the series on your kindle. It is packaged in a nice little box. You get all of Romy and then some. Twists and turns, edge of your set plot lines. I highly recommend this book.
