Step outside into nature and look around. Do you see the trees, notice the grass, and smell the scent of the woods? Ann Atkins discovered her love for plants when she was just a little girl. Following her father, she discovered beauty in the world around here. Ynes Mexia struggled through grief and loneliness for much of her life. When she was in her fiſties, she, too, discovered a passion for plants. As you read about these amazing botanists and their adventures, remember that whether you discover your life passion at the age of five or fiſty-five, it is never too late, nor too early, to follow your dreams.
Very infomative. I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did. I hadn't known anything about these two botanists prior. Both stories were fascinating in their own ways. The first due to the creation of the first books with pictures and the second for how late in life she pursued her passions. I especially loved the note about the father from the first story. Too often parents are bashed in novels. It felt very refreshing that it mentioned how active the father was and how it led her to becoming the Botanist she wanted to be.
