The Rizzoli Contract

Rate this book
Divorced and fonder of whisky that he should be, Harry Donohue moves through the familiar debris of a failed American life. But Harry has a book to publish. Obtained in classic Boston-Irish style, replete with high-level political favor-trading, it’s a story that hooks Harry up with Bobby Rizzoli, the city’s most notorious crooked cop, in jail for masterminding the biggest bank heist in New England history. Harry wants to do what no one else has the guts or the connections to pull off—publish Bobby’s blockbuster, lock in the profits, and rocket the two of them to riches and fame. That is, if Harry can keep his eyes off Bobby’s lonely wife long enough to keep the accountant away from the cooked books that are financing this last-ditch grab for glory.

I read this a few years back, found it just ok. A dark and gritty atmospheric tale of a struggling irish american book publisher looking for a way out of his unhappy and debt filled life. A little dark and dreary for me.
