Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2: Some Things are Black and White

Rate this book
In Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2: Some Things are Black and White, Amy Jean continues to share the ramifications of repetitive historical missteps in an intense poetic clang. The poems hint at unknown universal truths, including direct indications that we currently do not have the freedom we assume we possess, nor are we privy to view reality. The implied impending euphoria holds the reader hostage, as she or he flips from page to page. You can feel the author's anguish surrounding the greed and jealousy holding humanity back from breaking through to universal A rapidly approaching future where the oneness depicted in Holy Scripture is a present and universal truth for all.
Sincere tantalizing morsels of a gentle and enduring devotion seep sporadically between poems broadcasting profound rage regarding paths endured. You can feel the author's confidence build as she evaluates her worth against the negative feedback and denial she has experienced throughout her tumultuous, synthetic, and isolated existence; An existence she is painstakingly laboring to reconstruct, piece by piece, through intense contemplation. The juxtaposed nature of the work takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of emotional highs and lows, culminating in a final AMEN. Illustrator, Eric Savage, delivers once again with heartwarming illustrations that poignantly captivate the essence of the words on the page.

Poetry is the way to look deep into the person’s soul. Penning down poems are never a one-way thing but rather two ways, where a poet conveys his/her feelings through words and readers understand and relate to it. This book is a collection of beautiful twenty-three poems that will shook you from within. Poems vary from freedom, disgrace, success, life, etc. Black and white illustrations by Eric really complement poems.

Author has done some intense work here and such deep and personal portrayals connect with the readers. A lot of real and current world events have been laid down. Few poems are short and few are long, even cover in few pages. These poems will feel like a rollercoaster ride to all. I loved the line- “If you’re not the original you and I’m not the original me, maybe the current you and me were never meant to be.”

A lot of subjects in the book are controversial but has been described in a fantastic manner. It’ll at least make you question your true beliefs and truths in the society. It inspires you to dig your own truth. Amy Jean work is amazing. I absolutely loved all the poems as they not only touched me but left a deep impression on me. What a cover page, wow! I highly recommend this.

𝑴𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘:
Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2: Some Things are Black and White is a non-fiction poetic memoir. Written by author Amy Jean and illustrated by Eric Savage, this book offers a complete package of poetry and the deep thoughts that Amy has penned down to share the ramifications of repetitive historical missteps. Amy Jean's memoir and poetic memoir are inspired from her own life.

The language of the poems that are part of Part 2 is simpler as compared to Part 1. It is advised to read this book in the order in which the poems are written. After reading two poetry books penned down by Amy Jean, I must say that she is a great poet as well as an author. The poem "Three in one" is wonderfully written.

If you love me and I love you,
then two in love makes three:
a you, a me and a we.

I read few poems every day from this book in the silence of night. Writing style of Amy Jean is impressive. There are very few poetry books that are accompanied by illustrations. Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites is among them.

🔷 BOOK: Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2
🔷 AUTHOR: Amy Jean

My Review:
Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2: Some things are black and white is a poetic memoir written by the author Amy Jean. This book consists of twenty three poems and it also includes black and white illustrations by Eric Savage. Amy has also included some equations in this book. For example:

Success =
Wealth Accumulation
+ fame
+ power & Domination

Poems like Freedom, Social Distancing Think Positive, etc are very relatable. Amy's writing is flawless. Cover photo of the book is well designed.

All things come to an end
- An expiration date
Mine was supposed to be May 8th

- A life of isolation
praying for death in desperation
An existence that should never be - that's me....

Reading this poetic memoir was a great experience. Pretty illustrations made the reading experience more fun. This book consists of topics that affects us in our day to day life. I am glad that I read this book and I am curious to read more work of Amy in the future.

Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2 is the second poetry book penned down by the author Amy Jean. This book is a collection of poems in which author Amy has expressed her thoughts. This book has twenty three poems in total. Some of the poems that I loved from the collection are - Freedom, Transformation, Think Positive, Extinction, The You I Knew?. Amy has continued to share about the missteps taken in life and her thoughts are expressed in the form of poetry.

So many revisions
of you and me
How will I know if you are
the you I once knew?

What if I don't like
the next you I view?
If you're not the original you
& I am not the original me,
maybe the current you and me
were never meant to be.

Once you start reading this book, you could feel connected with the poems. Amy has suggested to read this book from the front and poetry lovers whether beginners or avid readers will surely love this book. Eric Savage illustrations surely doubled the joy of reading this book.

🖤Side Steps : Terrorizing Sound Bites by Amy Jeans is a collection of poetry on a variety of personal and socio-cultural themes.

🖤This is my first read from author Amy Jeans, I really loved it. Big fan of author’s writing style, selection of words.

🖤This book openly and boldly depicts the struggle faced by women to be recognised in a male-dominated society.

🖤The poetic style adds more value and impact to the message being conveyed. It highlights the plight of women who falls victim to traditionalism and the conservative thoughts which keep us chained.

🖤Through these emotionally intense poems, Author Amy Jean depicts her struggle and suffering in life and love. There are very intense illustrations present in the book, these illustrations make this book a very unique and heart touching read.

🖤The wordplay is spectacular and highly emotive. The flow of the poems is very different from other poetry books.

🖤Truly an amazing read!! Highly recommended to all women.

My Review:
Someone rightly said that poetry is the language of the soul. Poets pen down their feelings in the form of poetry and when readers could connect with those feelings then it's a true success for a poet.

Side Steps Terrorizing Sound Bites Part 2 is a poetry book that has a collection of beautifully penned down twenty three poems. These poems are based on wide topics such as Disgraced, Freedom, Consumed, Birthing Pains, Modern Art.

Author has very strong grip over her language. The flow of the poems is beautiful and I like to recommend this book to all poetry lovers. I loved the way author has described her feelings in this book. Every poem has one or more illustrations that are eye catchy.

After reading this poetry book, I am looking forward to read more poetry books by Amy.

Amazingly woven like an interesting spell. I didn't think this book was going to be this good. It was , as you might expect , engaging , a total different piece of art from every aspect.
It sets a very high bar for whatever he does that comes next.
