"The Other Side of the Lake," is a story about a raccoon family’s journey to a new home. The father raccoon has a small problem with the sun’s ray hitting his eyes in the morning, so he decides that the whole family must relocate because of his small problem. Thus, the travel to the other side of the lake is long and they get tired, but they still go on. Eventually, they’re on the exact other side of the lake, but father racoon still has the same problem, the only differences is the time. The illustration is cutely drawn, with detailed background and characters, making them look real. It’s humorous as the characters all seem to make facial expressions like that of a human and they even wear clothing to match their role. I believe this book will have the children giggling for its story and characters.
