Rose is about relationships - she says if we don't get those right, we'll be stuck in a cycle of misery. "Love one another as I have loved you" had led Rose to share the timeless teaching of the four temperaments to understand a person's deepest emotional needs. "Look, you can love others the way YOU want, or they way THEY need to be loved. It's selfish to keep insisting they be like you." Rose offers practical help in not just improving any relationship but in reaching higher levels of authentic love. Who doesn't want that?

Anecdotal introductions to each chapter keep the content flying by. The author proves expert-level insight from her personal experiences in many aspects of managing interpersonal relationships. A breezy read with nuggets of gold wisdom. I would recommend to all Catholic women. Will definitely be setting it aside for my own daughter to read in a year or two and will continue to reference back for my own edification should I become stumped by how to approach a certain conflict or challenge among my own relationships. I look forward to reading what else this author has to write.

A friend of mine lent me this book and while I’m not Catholic, I still found it very insightful. This book clearly lays out how God loves us as how we can use that love as a model for all kinds of relationships in our lives. It also explains how God’s love for us can teach us to love and respect ourselves. Overall, I would recommend this book to other people who want to live a more Christ-like life.

This book is a beautiful reminder that every relationship—with family, friends, or even ourselves—flows from our relationship with God. Rose Sweet weaves together Scripture, practical wisdom, and gentle humor to show how healing and grace can transform the way we love. It’s both a guide and a companion for anyone who longs to deepen their walk with God while also growing in authentic, life-giving relationships with others.

This was a pretty good book. It was nice to read once but it is not a book I would continue re-reading. Just nice to read to get some thoughts going on in your head on how to do better.
