Good content, but it's reading level is confusing. Early chapters have college level vocabulary, later seems close to middle school level. Author seems to jump between Python 2 and 3 which is a little confusing. I also think it is supposed to be an Ebook with links that were not present on print but still referenced. Overall, it taught me the basics but was confusing at times.
This is the second Python Coding book that I downloaded. It stands to reason that a book geared towards children would help me learn. Python is not for the faint of heart, this book did a much better job in explaining (in layman's terms) how to code. I did wish to see more illustrations and perhaps a few more coding examples, but overall it was a big help.
My son is interested in learning coding, so this sounded like a good fit. I liked thatbthe author explains that Python is a great mix of being easy to.understand and really useful. I thought all the pictures are really helpful. Some kids are visual learners and the pictures will.even help those who are not make sure they are following along. Overall, I think this is written well for.kids and I think it is easy to follow and understand.
I found this book extremely helpful in setting a foundation for understanding code. The author did a good job of relating the code language to real world uses that kids (and adults new to coding) an easily understand. I apprecitaed the step by step instructions for running Python on the computer. I'm looking forward to using it for my own website!
I have read a few python books and read this one with my kids. It was so fun watching them put into practice what they learned. My eldest was even able,to troubleshoot after reading that chapter. They were able to follow the book and my eldest has even asked for more books on python. This was a great experience for all of us.
This book might be for kids, but it helped me understand coding and what it is. I am not very computer savvy and I want to learn more. This book takes me through everything I need to know. I plan to lend it to my grandson when I am done, so we can learn together. It's a large book with lots of info.
Is it weird even as an adult I learned stuff from this book? I can code in Java, C++, C#, html, and do a little SQL though I'm terribly rusty. But this book was great at setting an easy concise foundation into Python. When my daughter is a little older I'll definitely get her started with this one.
I have much respect for those who work with children on the computer. The will always go to the sites they like when young no problem. As they age they buck the rules. But in this book you steer them to programming. Python is easy to learn and the exercises are good.
I skimmed through this before giving it to my son, who has shown quite an interest in learning to create code for games. I think that he will be able to utilize this book perfectly and learn a lot.
This book guides kids thru the coding process. It takes them from loading python all the way thru to troubleshooting. I recommend this book to anyone with kids that may need something to do. It will teach them something useful .
I've heard so much lately about children learning computer coding, I thought I'd do some research. Though this is over my head, if you're looking to get your children started in coding, this book is the perfect guide.
Great for kids (and adults) who are new to coding. Easy to follow details and examples throughout the book. Recommend for anyone wanting to lear python code.
It gives you the chance to show your children what they can do. You are able to let them read and grow their knowledge from reading about something they enjoy.
