As with all the Cambridge Shakespeare guides, this guide is great for both scene by scene and overall analysis of the play. Besides that it also explains the language used, forms of criticism given throughout history, as well as examples of how the play has been interpreted in various stage productions. All this and more. What I especially like about these guides is that they are accessible, yet written at a proper level. Shame that this series doesn’t extend to all of Shakespeare’s plays.
