Rate this book
Collision Course demonstrates that the United States was founded by Christians seeking religious freedom and economic opportunity a grand experiment that made
the common man king. Those new world immigrants brought with them a Christian worldview marked by a robust Protestant work ethic and an entrepreneurial
spirit that prospered in the wilds of America s unchartered capitalistic economy that eventually made the European franchise the envy of the world. The backbone of that
exceptional success was her Christian foundation that nourished critical institutions family, religion, government, education, and economy. However, as the history
of past empires demonstrates, most often the founding ingredients wear thin and now, two and a half centuries later, America finds herself at a moral tipping point
having abandoned much of her original Christian influence. Collision Course tracks America s approaching moral tipping point which demands a call for an emergency
renewal a true repentance - to change course in order to avoid being relegated to the dust bin of history and end times irrelevancy.

Sobering yet hopeful

I thought this book covered a lot of history and facts, as well as recent history to help the reader understand what is happening to our nation. He also gives a plan to bring Christianity back to the forefront in America. How I wish pastors would read this book. We need an awakening!

AN EXTREME ‘ANTI-PROGRESSIVE’ PREDICTS FUTURE PERSECUTION FOR U.S. CHRISTIANS

Author LTC Robert Maginnis wrote in the Foreword to this 2020 book, “The United States of America was a Christian nation, at least in principle and demonstrable values, until recent years. It owes past success to a large degree to that Christian foundation, but in recent decades, America’s culture has accelerated on a collision course to a tipping point whereby moral and religious decay are fast pushing her over the proverbial cliff into that sewer of sin that could end in destruction and last-times irrelevance. [This book] explores … the moral and religious decline that jeopardizes America’s future… and then explore what I call the conspiracy of evil… that have pushed America away from her Christian roots toward an evil place. Fortunately, there is hope for the future even at this late date. America can reverse this evil outcome, but it must act now.” (Pg. ix)

He states in Chapter 1, “I believe our founders knew that America was a Christian nation from the start… the historical evidence is clear: The vast majority of the colonial population at the time self-identified as Christian, and their Christian churches were … at the center of every civil, public, and private activity. That, by definition, made America a Christian nation. So why did our founders create a secular federal government?... They wanted to avoid the many tortured issues associated with state-established religions… Thus, our founders produced a government without an established religion, but that decision in no way meant America ceased being a Christian nation.” (Pg. 11-12)

He continues, “The colonial practice of establishing a government-sponsored religion ended by 1833 across the United States. We have to thank the various colonial religious leaders … for that disestablishment movement, which removed the federal and state governments from favoring one religion over another. However, that by no means meant America was not a Christian nation.” (Pg. 19)

He goes on, “Even though every founder respected our Christian heritage … they worried that religion would corrupt the state… and the state by association also corrupted religion. In fact, this warning was expressed in the Federalist Papers by founder James Madison… Founder Thomas Jefferson … and James Madison advocated for a complete separation of church and state in the new republic. Others, like John Adams and George Washington, acknowledged that religion was essential for a virtuous society, but they signed the Constitution endorsing the idea that there should be no religious test.” (Pg. 33)

He clarifies, “A Christian nation is defined as a large group of people bonded together by their common identity, which came about thanks to embedded Christian principles that shaped societal values and institutions.” (Pg. 41) Later, he adds, “Those underlying principles are found in the Bible. The first… is faith in God as the Creator… the author of morality… Believing in the all-powerful God of the Bible was the second… The third … is recognition of the fallen condition of mankind… The fourth … is the necessity of widespread Christian faith to produce a stable and prosperous nation… The fifth… is civil government’s purpose to restrain evil and reward good… Finally, the sixth … is the promotion of servant leadership.” (Pg. 44-49)

He asserts, “The question before America today is: Will the current moral crisis dividing the country lead to another war? We cannot continue to have one side celebrating pure evil while the other tenaciously clings to the remnants of our diminished Christian heritage. Something must give!” (Pg. 86)

He contends, “many Congressional Democrats believe there is a ‘religious test’ for service in the federal government and, for the most part, anyone professing orthodox Christian views isn’t qualified. Every reader should recall the anti-Christian attacks on a Trump nominee in October 2018… Fortunately, and because of President Trump’s efforts to fill our judicial branch with stricter constitutional jurists, the Christians’ lot is changing, through perhaps only momentarily.” (Pg. 93, 96) He provides examples of what he calls “The Obama administration’s acts of hostility toward people of biblical faith.” (Pg. 101) Later, he states, “Mr. Obama was the most anti-Christian president in the history of the United States. He qualifies as a proxy of Satan based on his administration’s policies and his personal behavior during his tenure in office.” (Pg. 265)

He asserts, “Yes, public schools brainwash children… by indoctrinating students through the daily repetition of information that, in time, leads to their acceptance of a secular worldview, which is very contrary to the Christian worldview… Our children are exposed to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) teachings, the myth of evolution, and revisionist American history… Christian parents must come to agree that government schools are no longer an option if they have choices---i.e., home school or Christian school.” (Pg. 114, 116, 121)

He decries what he terms ‘Mainstream Media’s Anti-Christian Bigotry.’ (Pg. 199) But then he adds, “Let me juxtapose the mainstream media with Fox News personalities… it is my view that many Fox News personalities embrace Christian perspectives and honestly try to be objective in their interviews and commentaries. By comparison… most of the major media networks … [have] a leftist, anti-Christian bias that was unmistakable.” (Pg. 219)

He says, “‘Christian nationalism’ … is associated with American patriots who believe this country’s founding Christian principles and values are a big part of the reason this nation enjoyed great success from her early years. They want to recover those Christian principles and values within our key institutions.” (Pg. 278) He asserts that ”Progressives and Satan want… a Christian-free political environment to promote their radical agenda. I don’t see a middle ground.” (Pg. 300)

He predicts, “American Christians will soon face real persecution… this will begin to happen especially when President Trump is gone and unless genuine Christian renewal starts and soon. Today, Christians in America enjoy a brief respite from Satan and his proxies because Mr. Trump is fearless against the left… when Mr. Trump inevitably leaves office, the left will double-down on their effort to continue radically transforming America. Their hatred for Trump will be redirected toward those who supported him, which especially includes conservative, evangelical Christians. The left will then embrace even more tyrannical tactics… I’m not exaggerating that an emboldened, progressive radical left (Satan and his proxies) will use government to do to Trump-supporting Christians what the Nazi regime’s … paramilitary did to the Jews on Kristallnacht… [in] 1938.” (Pg. 382)

Well, it’s been close to four years since Biden replaced Trump, and we have yet to see ‘real persecution’ of Christians, much less a Kristallnacht… LTC’s Maginnis’s extreme political views (e.g., 'proxies of Satan'?) seem to be greatly clouding his judgment.
