Vatican Knights #22

The Eye of Moses

Rate this book
In France, a member of a secret guild is killed for the secrets he keeps.

In Croatia, a stronghold is breached, and a treasure is stolen.

At the Vatican, a corrupt pontiff views Kimball Hayden as a threat to his rule.

When a Croatian stronghold is breached and scores are killed, a religious icon is stolen that contains a dark particle that’s powerful enough to either create worlds or destroy them. It is an element so strong and deemed so uncontrollable, that a group known as the Shadow Klan wants to harness its power to create a weapon of mass destruction that is so great and should they succeed, they would hold the scepter of global rule. Superpowers would fall under their dominance and their decrees with the broken wills of world leaders surrendering to bended knees.

With a corrupt pontiff who sees Kimball Hayden as a threat to his power, Pope Clement XV mobilizes the Vatican Knight without his team to retrieve the dark particle known as the Eye of Moses, in hopes that this will lead to Kimball’s ultimate downfall.

Forced to work in tandem with a guild known as the Consortium Group, Kimball Hayden quickly discovers that the Shadow Klan is the most notorious enemy he has ever faced in a high-stakes game where the consequences are enormous and the chances of succeeding are small.

Without the Vatican Knights by his side, will Kimball be able to retrieve a treasure that contains the power of Providence? Did Pope Clement XV wittingly set Kimball up to fail? Or will he forever take residence within the Darkness that he has lived in for so long without hope of redemption?

I thought when I started reading this book that the main character was being set up in some way or another, which he was, he was not so active in this book which surprised me, but the story was excellent and has been left open I hope so that there may be more about the Vatican Knights, I have read all 22 books and have thoroughly enjoyed every one of them! They were well written and each story kept you riveted to your seat and wanting to keep reading, I always like it when the Vatican Knights went out on a mission as a Team and some of the stories that have been written have been breathtaking. I would recommend anyone who wants to read a book without sex and gratuitous violence in them and a really good story, then Start at Book 1 and work your way through the rest of them, you will not be disappointed. I hope someone reads my review and thinks that they would give it a try as I do feel that you would not be disappointed. I hope that there will be more of these books as I now feel part of the Vatican Knight family and I shall miss the stories if I have now read the last one. Give them a try, you will not be disappointed.

A Knight without his brothers in arms

So Kimball is sent to fight without his fellow Knights in the hope that he will not return. I expected this journey would be more introspective, but the focus of this novel really wasn't on Kimball at all. Granted, there was plenty of action and casualties on both sides of the good versus evil duet, but it never seemed to follow-up on that initial lead in of the Pope wanting Kimball dead. I found it more than distracting that every time Kimball was mentioned his whole name was given. Even a new to the series reader could figure out to whom either Kimball or Hayden referred after the first few mentions.
There is so little in this book from Kimball's point of view and more the viewpoint of the protagonists.

Jones does it again!

Loved this book! Kimball, the sole Vatican Knight, it sent on an deep cover mission to help save the world. Full of action and some terror thrown in, this book hit all of the points I was searching for while leaving openings for the next book!! Please keep them coming!

Another cliffhanger (if you will pardon the pun ) that will become apparent when you read this book.

The stories keep coming fast and furious how Rick Jones keeps up such action in each story is amazing now on to book 23 The Crimson Dagger what a great way for me to pass the time during my Lockdown.
Thanks for keeping an old timer happy. Billy

I can skip over the repartitions, but can't forgive the grammar and word misuse. These books suffer not from some gre0at yarns, but rom the lack of a good proof reader.
