This book offers a simple and accessible introduction to Lenin's ideas. It is well-written and easy to read, in my opinion. However, I wouldn’t recommend it to someone just starting out with Marxist theory, as it might still be too complex for beginners. That said, for those who already have a grasp of the basics of Marxism and are looking for a deeper understanding of Lenin, this book is an excellent choice.
The book effectively highlights the significance of Lenin's work and his monumental contributions to the struggle of working people. Unfortunately, anti-communist historical distortions have often painted him as a "villain" or "dictator," obscuring the fact that he dedicated his life to fighting for the working class. Lenin stands as one of the most important revolutionary figures in history, a true champion of the proletariat. The Russian Revolution, which he led, sent shockwaves through the capitalist world and exposed its exploitative nature. It remains a pivotal moment in the global struggle for workers' liberation.

I kind of like this idea, Marxist telling us by quoting Lenin what he really said together with some commentary, context, and interpretation. From the introduction, it gets off as a hagiography, but the content itself seems to be pretty straightforward and objective although there is subjectivity in the selection itself. There are still hints of hagiography, especially in the last chapter about Leninism where the authors defend Lenin against Leninism.
For me, the three-star rating is not on the content of what Lenin said. Lenin, here as well, I see(ad I'm amazed that people still fall for it!) as an evil despicable person with an evil despicable ideology. Lenin's badness has come to light differently than for instance Hitlers, but they are both proponents of similar ideas. Lenin however keeps having a big fan base, whilst that base should be seen as the same ilk as the nazis - they are tolerated.
