How can we make grace a greater enabling power in our lives and more fully participate in the Savior’s atoning gift? In Lord, How Is It Done?, author Ken Gibson introduces five principles to help readers confront the trials of mortality most of us feel ill-equipped to resolve because we simply don’t know the answer to this overarching question of how. The author draws upon Enos’s experience of asking, “Lord, how is it done?” and illustrates what it means to experience the Savior’s Atonement and lay claim to the promises of peace He has given. Readers are invited not just to come unto Christ but also to learn line upon line how it is done. The principles taught in this book are designed to illuminate the pathway to enduring peace and spiritual prosperity for all whose souls hunger.
This is a wonderfully prepared explanation on how one can be better able to take advantage of the grace offered by the Savior to all who will accept it. The invitation is extended to all of us regardless of what our circumstances are, or have been. What a promise of hope is outlined here. I especially appreciated the "Key understandings" outlined and then the self "assessment" invitations at the each section. It helps the learning and pondering necessary to help me in my resolve to change and to be a better person.
I am constantly looking for ways to apply principles in a way that I can see and understand. For some reason this is something I've always struggled with. I need things laid out well. I loved the principles in this book. It felt in some ways like the 'how to' that I have been looking for. The author described normal things like grace, prayer, and personal covenants in ways that gave me new perspective and deeper meaning. He gave questions that helped me think clearer to myself about what I understand and believe. This might be my favorite book of the year.
