I’m not going to lie; I was a bit curious about this book. I wanted to read it to see and learn what happened.
I can say this Lawrence and Matthias's family are some horrible people. Just ridiculous; I was glad that Matthias was there to help Shawna and Trey out. After Lawrence died two years ago; what gets me is Lawrence's parents wanted to take Trey away from Shawna. Kept saying she was unfit etc; because she was a black woman she wasn’t like them. I wanted to slap them myself.
Because for one she wasn’t an unfit mom and she was able to take care of Trey. They tried everything in their right to take Trey away. But I was like do they not realize that regardless he is still half AFRICAN AMERICAN. Smh 🤦🏽♀️... they would’ve brought him up to be just like them including becoming racist.
That little boy was too sweet to become evil; like Lawrence and Matthias's family. I was glad for Matthias because he was the right person to come into Shawna and Trey's life. To help them; especially with Trey's medical condition. That he needed. No thanks to that horrible family.
I was glad that everything turns out good for them in the end...

Great Read
Shawna is a widow mother with a son who has a very illness. Her husband and her went through very hard times because of his selfish racists parents. But he wouldn't allow them to break them up or keep the two of them apart only it was death that succeeded in making that happen. And with him gone she was left struggling to take care of Trey and herself. Then things started to go from bad to worse when she was at her wits end and decided to ask his horrible parents for help and what a mistake that was. They degraded her called her names and treated her like garbage. She was devastated but in her favor Matthias her husband cousin happened to be there at the time and sorta came to her rescue which is just what she needed but did he show up just in time and does she except his help and what happens when his aunt and uncle find out will the be able to take away her son like they threaten? Well I guess you'll have to read it and find out! Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed reading this story.

Love, in sickness and in health.
Loved this story! The H/h relationship had a ruff start. But due to the love of a sick child and a loving mother, this family had a happy ending. The mother ended up with a good and loving husband and the child with a good and loving father. Love and prayers are everything.

Interesting, but needs more details
Nice premise. Story needs more details. Child dialogue seem too old for age. Main characters is gorgeous? But no details on how she looks. She cries way too much. Shower scenario seemed random, but it did have details. I think this book should be updated, typos corrected and released again. Sorry, I really wanted to enjoy this read.

I loved the story line & I was so glad it had a happy ending for the little boy. I wish it was longer & we got to see a little more of the characters life journey together. I really wanted to see them stand up as a united force against his evil family.

What a true love story. Mathias thought he was saving them he was also saving himself. It was nice to read a romance that was not about sex until the end. His life was changed. I would like to read a sequel.

AWESOME! Too short. I love this book. The power of love is awesome, especially as it wins over racism and hate. It brought me to tears.

The story was not at all what I expected. Person is not the best write, transitions are rocky, not enough details, etc
