A new year, a new crime. The charred remains of a brand new coffee shop. Can Fortuna uncover the spark that set off new drama in Mystic's End?
The end of the chaotic holiday season couldn't come fast enough. Now that Gabe's settled into a new career, the town has settled into relative normalcy, and Martin has accepted the fact that Fortuna won't be jumping every time he makes a demand, the witch finally feels like she and Miss Bessie can focus on the magic secrets of the town she's sure are hidden just below the surface.
But then the new town coffee shop goes up in flames—along with all her plans.
When victim Dalida Dodd hires Gabe to investigate the arson that set her business ablaze, Fortuna can't help but worry that the newcomer isn't being completely honest with the earnest detective. As Gabe is pulled further and further into Dalida's drama, Fortuna has no choice but to dust off her crystal ball and help set things right.
Will Fortuna be able to douse the flames threatening to consume her friend Gabe? Or will her help expose too many secrets, threatening them all?

As Fortuna and Jeeves/Chris/Sparkles open more witch bottles the Fortuna's home and business are slowly getting more and more cramped. Ghosts from the days when it was just called Mystic, a ghost who was a slave, some from the 20's and 60's along with Bessie and Mary. The cacophony of voices, questions, arguments it's driving Fortuna crazy. So when Mary invites Dalida to stay with Fortuna after her business is blown up mysteriously she's not exactly pleased.. for one who is Dalida? For two how is it she can communicate with the ghosts? And thirdly can she be trusted?
Trust is important when Fortuna has an announcement to make about Anna but when Martin and Jeeves go to collect Addie and uncle Vito and don't return Fortuna has to work with Evangeline to try and find out what has happened to them.. it's not going to be easy.. especially when she's on edge waiting to hear the results of her DNA test.. Bessie said she had no family in Mystic's End but was she right or not??
This book answers a lot of questions that have been raised in the previous books in the series, it is very difficult to give any details without giving spoilers, so instead I will just give my thoughts on some aspects of the book. The first thing to note is that this series is actually more of a serial, rather than a series of stand-alone books, what this means for this book is that it can't really be read as a stand-alone, it just doesn't really make sense without reading the previous books first. Having made that criticism, I will move on to the positive things, and these include a very clever storyline; excellent characters, who all behave in a consistent manner; enjoyable dialogue; great world building and great writing to pull all this together. So if you have read the earlier books, you will be delighted with this offering and relieved that so many questions have been answered. I received an advance copy of this book from the author, but this honest review has been voluntarily written.
This book by Leanne Leeds gives us the answers to a lot of questions and secrets in Mystic's End. Dalida Dodd, fairly new to Mystic's End has her coffee shop blown up across the street from Fortuna. Fortuna has been finding the bottles that have the witches encased in them. Her shop is now filled with witches galore. The story also involves the Magic Midway. a vampire, lots of magic, greyhound racing and more. Fortuna is trying to find her parents based on a picture that was given to her by her adoptive parents. There are so many characters each with their own story. If you have not read the first six books, you may want to do so to get the full story. This is a very enjoyable book to read. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
The Best Episode -Ever! I am so enjoying this series. The next episode, book 8, is supposed to be the end of the series. A reader really needs to read them in series order to enjoy them to the fullest. Each book is a complete story, but the over-reaching story arc is essential to understand. As this episode brings us closer to the series end, many details get sewn up. I could not believe all of the plot points, new details, and resolutions in this one novel. I am also tickled with how so many details are getting resolved. When the series finally ends, I am going to binge read all of the books so I can really understand what happened. I received this ARC book for free from the author and this is my honest review.
Fortuna is quite a character. This story was a very enjoyable reading experience. The story was full of wonderful characters and you feel like you are there in the mist of all the action. Boy was there action, ghosts, vampire, witches and more. You will love the twists and crazy antics of the story as it takes you away into Mystic’s End and the world around you fades away. This is the first book in this series that I have been blessed to read. I will be going back and reading the previous six books. Highly recommend to all cozy lovers.
Leanne Leeds is a gifted author that must have an amazing imagination. I can never predict what will happen next in her books and this was the best yet. This book a several shocking revelations that was absolutely crazy yet awesome. I love this magical world built around the Magical Midway series and continued in Mystic's End with its big amazing magic. This is such a great story.
Things just got real! This part of the journey for Fortuna has taken so many twists and turns it will make your head spin! Don't try to figure it all out ahead of time, it's a very deep rabbit hole! Just enjoy the ride! All I can say is Wow!!! One of the best series of books I've read in a very long time! Enjoy!
I really enjoyed this book in this continuing series. The characters are well developed and the conversations flow naturally. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put the book down. You definitely need to read the series from the beginning, but it is definitely worth it. I can't wait for the next book.
As always I love how even though this is a series, you are able to know what going on without reading every book prior, but i do recommend if able to read them all in order. Sad to know this book is close to the end, but of course loving having all questions being answered. Fortuna is on a new mystery in this one after the burning of a coffee shop and learning about secrets in Mystic's End.
Who blew up Dalida's coffee shop and why? Gabe is hired to investigate and gets drawn in to all Dalida's drama. What is her story anyway? Lots of questions are answered in this one. Vampires, witches, ghosts, witch bottles. So much going on!
The witch bottles are being opened, although all have not been found. A woman who's recently come to town and opened a fancy coffee shop continues to stare at Fortuna from across the street. UNTIL there is a HUGE explosion in the coffee house building. Witch bottles, long lost relatives, relations under cover and lies, half truths and CRAZY PEOPLE!
Honestly speaking, after such a long time I have really and thoroughly enjoyed a series like this..I am in absolute love with the story and the way it develops itself and the characters...it kept me guessing and wanting more. Dear miss leeds, I am a fan of your work!!
Fantastic! So many interesting things were learned. I almost couldn’t keep up! It was just amazing. This series is a must read, and this book, oh yeah! I’m afraid to say more because I don’t want to give anything away, it’s just too good!
Loved every one of the Mystics End Mysteries books....I'm so sad there is only one left...please make sure Fortuna ends up with you know who! It's been a long time coming. Will all the bottles be found? It can't end....it's to soon.
The story continues. There is a lot of depth and details in this series. You need to pay attention and be willing to read slowly to following the details. Good character development.
While, of course it is not perfect, it is immensely entertaining, and keeps you guessing. The characters are well worked into the fiber of the story. It is the best series I have read in quite some time.
I really enjoy Leanne Leeds and especially the Mystic's End series. This book answered a lot of questions that have accumulated over the series and I can't wait for the next book!
This book answered many questions that Fortuna has had. I was very surprised at what she found out. I certainly didn’t expect…you’ll have to read this book to know what I’m talking about.
Fortuna has a lot to do. Free the captive witches. Find out who the new coffee shop owner really is. Destroy the curse on Mystic's End. And maybe, just maybe , find a romantic relationship. Ghosts, witches and a vampire, only in Mystic's End!
This book is the best in the series so far!! So many questions answered, so much mystery!! I couldn't put it down. I can not wait for book 8, I need more!!
I just love this series!!! I can’t wait til the next one, but I am sad it will be the end of the series. Keep em coming Leeanne.....We will be waiting!!!!!
