But the criminals with murderous intent rear their ugly heads again and we follow an adventure filled with barristers, builders, bookies, racehorses, and life in the English countryside while trying to discover who is out to kill. There is romance too, but carrying his dreadful secret, our narrator must try to carve himself a new life before his old one catches up with him and wrecks it all. This book is woven around lighthearted incidents and a gentle growing romance; although powerful tension is building as the plot twists and turns and the clock is ticking. This engaging thriller unfolds against the background of a bygone era and the fast-paced story captivates and involves readers as the chase is on.

Now available as an Audiobook!

Just released as an Audiobook that is even cheaper than the paperback! An excellent and elegantly written story. Remember fax machines and life before mobile phones? In 1978 that is how it was, even for car a car thief looking to escape death-threats and turn his life around. Set in the world of horse racing as much as car theft, this enchanting tale is bound to captivate and engage readers.
