Drawings by John Singer Sargent in the Corcoran Gallery of Art

Rate this book
This publication of Sargent's drawings, which comes at a time of scholarly re-examination of his work, aptly demonstrates his conviction that draughtsmanship is a necessary tool of the artist's vision. All of the drawings contained in this book are from the permanent collection of The Corcoran Gallery of Art. As part of the Gallery's program of traveling exhibitions, many of them have been exhibited since 1955 at other institutions and have attracted the interest of the public and students of contemporary art in many sections of the country.
