“On the Nile with a Dancing Dane” brought me along on an exotic trip-of-a-lifetime journey to the Egypt of the 1980’s – before tourists started pouring in. Accompanying a dancing Dane and her traveling companion, I was entertained with exciting experiences at every turn of the road – or river. I felt as if the author had slipped me into her backpack, and I was with her every step of the way.
The author’s treatment of her topic – including her storyline and her research – are the perfect complement to her clear, concise writing style. Crafting her memoir with care, she intersperses her own detailed scratch-board artworks from her 1980’s Egypt adventure. These artworks breathe life into the characters she meets – in life and in death – during her travels. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and would recommend it highly for anyone needing a vacation back to the 1980’s where exploring exotic Egypt was a real adventure.
Excellent travel story taken through Egypt and down the Nile River. Beautifully illustrated with original artwork by author and photos taken by author. Highly recommended.
