Even if you don't play the game nor have any intention to, the sheer brilliance of Sam's prose, voice and use of anachronistic vernacular is worth the read alone. He is literally a character out of the Hollywood gambler cliché.

If you DO play the game, you'll get some of the best strategies for playing Craps ever written. No one can ever guarantee that you'll beat the house long term (a 1.41% house advantage is built into the straight Pass Line bet as with any casino game), but what Sam does is explain some of the best money management and stop loss techniques to keep you going longer.

Definitely a classic.

Terrible writer, but he's the first one to point out that he's not an author. A ton of information and different, specific betting strategies, although a lot of them are the same. Informative.
