It's the wedding of the year and Brodie MacBride is finally marrying Cass Carlisle, the woman of his dreams and his second-in command. After negotiating a wedding consisting of punch-ups, a drama queen of a sister and bizarre vibrating gifts, the happy couple leave Glasgow and head down south to Lancashire to break the news of their marriage to Cass's estranged family.
They discover the village in which she was born and raised is being terrorised by the local bully and the man who tried to rape Cass when she was a teenager.
As Brodie and Cass attempt to free the village from its tormentor, secrets from her past start to tumble out, secrets her own family have gone to a lot of trouble to suppress.

Author of over seventy books so far. Living on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with my husband, twin daughters and a cat called Mavis, although I am originally from Lancashire in the north of England.
My tastes in all things are eclectic, which extends to my writing. Although I primarily write crime books - especially gangland thrillers - I also write gothic historical romance and fantasy. I publish on Amazon Kindle and some of my novels are available in paperback too. I also have a traditional publishing contract with Boldwood Books.
When I'm not writing - which isn't very often - I enjoy reading Daphne Du Maurier, Edgar Allan Poe, Shirley Jackson, MR James and the Brontes, among many others. I also enjoy swimming, walking and spending time with my family.
Brodie and Cass finally get married, it's the honeymoon that causes all the problems. The assault and attempted rape of Cass when she was a teenager the trauma of that has never left her. The treatment from her brother and her parents have caused her untold grief by not believing her. For years they said she was a liar and made up what happened that night. She has lived with the memory of that night and it's caused her nightmares ever since. now Cass and Brodie are back in her childhood village to see her family and tell them she's married, and the boy who attacked her has grown into an even nastier piece of work than he was and Cass has to face her fears and help out the good people of the village fight against him and his hired bullies. It's a hard journey but she won't stop until she gets to the truth behind what happened to her that night.

I think this was one of my favourites in the unfinished business series Heather never ceases to thrill and keep the reader enraptured throughout she is one of my favourite all time authors keep doing what your doing heather
Brilliant as always. Thanks heather. Can't wait for the next one. Love Brodie, Cass and their friends, (family). Can't pick your family but you can your friends.
I am glad I have read this book I enjoyed it but it didn’t have me gripped . I suppose Brodie and Cass have gone as far as they can for me . I preferred the book before this.
Honestly couldn't finish it. Predictable, repetitive and clichéd. After I read about the 'volcano of a woman' for the umpteenth time I stopped reading.
