Maximus Xeno Sapien or Reson Xeno Sapien?
Lorelei: She has one month to become a bride. A possibility is a platonic relationship, of course. But for some reason, Lorelei’s heart wants Reson, the bad-boy Xeno Sapien. The play-boy. Reson’s Lesson

In book 16 of Marks’ Genetically Altered Human series, we get the story of Lorelei and her struggle to pick her mate.
In Lorelei’s situation she’s finding that her heart wants what it wants. It’s her mind that seams to be messing things up. With only a month to choose she battles with herself over what’s best for her. The problem is Reson, and the stories she hears about him, she’s unsure if he can be the mate for her.
Reson knew the moment he laid eyes on Lorelei that she’s the one. But, something or someone seems to be holding her back. Well, he has a plan for that, and she’s the most adorable toddler that a uncle could ask for. Surely, that should put him in the running to be picked. Only problem is a new potential suitor, named Max has been placed on the list of mates to choose from. Unfortunately he also has a viscous ex that has to be dealt with too!
Learning what’s a lie or truth, that comes out of Graces mouth, is causing Lorelei to question her heart and mind on who to pick. But now Max has changed his mind on what type of relationship he wants from her.
This one is a heart clincher, both potential mates are great, but only one can “win”.

This is another great addition to the Genetically Altered Humans series. Personally, I highly recommend reading the previous books or at least a few of them (and definitely reading the first one) so you can get a full grasp on what this world is about. You can fully enjoy the book without reading anything prior, but there are some things that would not make sense to you without the backstory.
This is the love story between Lorelei and Reson. Lorelei was introduced in a prior book and was brought to Xenia by Reson. She fell in love with him, but due to Reson not being ready to settle, she decided to play the field a bit. Reson has had a hard time due to a prior relationship that was ended abruptly. He never got over it and it has hindered his new relationship with Lorelei. He ultimately learns that he loves her and needs to get over his history in order to not lose out on the love of a lifetime.
Lorelei and Reson’s connection is amazing and full of banter that is hilarious. You won’t be disappointed with this book. It is one that will be easy to read in one sitting because you just want to keep going.

What a romance!
Lorelei is a temptress. She is really attracted to Reson, but she’s playing the field for now. I do admire her desire to make sure she finds the right mate, but she really needs to be a bit more discerning with what she believes. As for Reson, he has serious commitment issues. I have to give him credit, though; he always gives the truth as he sees it. I love his impassioned appeals when he finally makes his move. 💞 The ending is especially moving, though there is still some trouble brewing among ‘friends.’ As always, I am fascinated by the Zeno Sapien’s stories. This is another excellent book in an outstanding series.

This was so good. It was a fast paced story with great characters. The main two characters, Lorelei and Reson were great. Reson was kinda slow when it was time to tell Lorelei that he loved her. Then you have Max and Grace. I loved Max and felt really bad for him but Grace was a total douchebag. Reson had gone through a really bad experience and he was scared to commit to Lorelei so he just about lost her to Max. There was so much drama, misunderstanding, and passion. You'll have to find out what happens to Max. I received a copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This was a cute one! Ended up being a competition between Max and Reson which wasn't the best scenario since the two were already at odds. Lorelei has to marry within 30 days in order to stay in Xenia. Reson makes her heart beat so quickly and Max is a true friend - a safe choice. I loved the fun dates that Lorelei went on with both men. I also really love the family atmosphere of the characters in the book. We get to revisit with old favorites in this one! How will Lorelei choose the right guy for her? Read and find out! Love this series! 4 stars

The need to choose leads to some complex and emotion packed scenes in this science fiction based romance. Sometimes decisions are complicated when the head disagrees with the heart, and this storyline is filled with the tension of the inner battle. The characters are completely enticing and the plot hooks the reader immediately.

Great addition to the Sci-Fi/Paranormal Romance genre!
The writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created.
The attitudes toward the events that are happening make the story even richer and the characters more relatable.

Another amazing read. How she manages to write characters that any one can relate while keeping things fresh and exciting I will never know . Some times people can motivate us in there own ways and we dont always understand they have out best interests at heart. Through think and thin Family is forever

Loved the story line. Reson needed to learn a life lesson. Took friends, and "family" to teach him so he didn't lose out on the woman meant to be his. A bad experience from the past affected him, as it does most people. Rena shows that human or Xeno Sapien, you should be able to live and learn.
