The Dancer Who Saved Her Soul
The journey back to the top is always difficult after a fall from grace.
With her mother as the principal, Cha Yerin is the Queen Bee at the Seoul Leadership Academy. She knows exactly what she wants and she will manipulate anything to get there.

I Give this book a 3 out of 5 Stars
This is a very important book to the entire Ji Soo Lee - K-POP Universe, is Recommend Reading Holly’s Series so you get better sense of what Seungjin’s going through.
Yerin was a very hard person to understand, but yet you understood her?
This was a good book though, and it’s actually a HEA, but since it’s TF for some it would classify as a HFN.

Really a 3.5, but rounded up.
The characters annoyed me more in this over the last one... particularly because the focus characters where the most irritating from the previous book. However, their victim mentality melodramatics felt very authentic... Ji Soo Lee writes privileged, spoiled, self centered teenagers extraordinarily well. I wanted to slap them both, repeatedly... but they also do have their redemption moments, their realizations, and their coming around... and it doesn't feel fake. It feels natural and appropriately reluctant.
So that would bump it to a 4, except minus 0.5 stars for some inconsistencies. I feel like I should have a sheet of paper with me marking down events and when they happen, because maybe sometimes I am confused as these books keep jumping back in time to give us other sides of different events... but there were definitely some times things felt out of sync. And there were some characters that are secondary in this book that felt a bit out of character in moments, after getting to know them well in other books.
Anyhow, still enjoyable! And am excited to jump back to Onyx now... following the reading order from the website, there were major teasers in this book for Onyx... ready to find out what CX was hinting at!

I couldn't put it down.
I wasn't sure if it was a brave and brilliant idea or a stupid one to base this book on the least likeable characters from the previous book. I am a big believer in almost everyone having redeeming features but hadn't found any in these two. This story didn't sugarcoat them at all and their growth throughout the book was gradual and believeable. I was really rooting for them at the end!
I loved the cryptic cameos by members of Onyx and H3R0 and am really tempted to go back and read those books again. While I love the steaminess of those series, I also enjoy the more innocent vibe here. I will definitely be reading the rest of the series and can't wait to see who else will be joining the group.

I had a hard time with this one. Both Yerin and Seungjin are immature brats, to be honest. It takes a while for them to start growing up.
But this story is integral to the overall story. It’s necessary to see how Zodiac is formed and what is going to happen to them.
Loved all the cameos from H3RO and Onyx and was so hopeful that Seungjin would start to treat Holly like the wonderful sister she is.
Overall, would love to read more about Yerin and Seungjin (now that I don’t hate them!) and see them continue to grow.

It's more of a 2.5/5
I'm really torn on this one. The first half felt kind of unnecessary, as most of the major plot points were already discussed in the previous book and this really took away from the reading experience. The rest of the story was fine and I wish, the book had started there. Also, the romance just didn't click for me and some time skips felt kind of choppy.
I really want to see more of the actual idol life and less scenes taking place in school.
Nevertheless, my hopes for the next book are definitely higher, as it centers around a character we haven't seen much of.

I absolutely devour everything Ji writes, but there is something about the young love in these Zodiac books that I can't put them down! This book was fantastic! To see Yerin and Seungjin evolve made my heart so happy! I will read this series (and her others) till she gets tired of writing! I can't wait for book 4!!

The shifting focus toward Yerin and Seungjin was interesting. Especially after what happened in the previous book that overlaps a bit with this one. The new path of the bully Yerin after the big changes in her life was thoughtful. A drama with an unlikely heroine that continue around in the zodiac series.

I fall more in love with every book
With every book and series I fall more and more in love with the author. This book was no exception. I love getting glimpses into the other groups lives from outside the MCs. The whole world of Atlantis Entertainment is so fantastically written I forget that it's not real when I am looking for new kpop songs to listen to and videos to watch.

Family conflict and the hard work to become an idol make this a special story. Yerin and Jin work hard and overcome many obstacles to achieve their dreams and find love along the way. Very entertaining and loveable characters. You’ll really enjoy this book. I loved it! Once you start it, you won’t be able to put it down! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ 5hearts!

I liked this one best in the series so far. Enjoyed the struggle with the idols and how they deal with the life of training. Really looking forward to the next one in the series. Have enjoyed all the books so far.

I enjoyed this book I'm new to k-pop books actually only read Ji Soo Lee so far enjoying this series it's well written and good characters, I look forward to book 4!

The lighthearted escapism we need in these times; I know it makes these work as standalone books, but there's a lot of overlap with book #2.
