Rate this book
Danny, Molly and Marcus are three sparkling creative siblings, although each one expresses himself differently. Danny likes music and by singing and playing the guitar he can give voice to his feelings. Mercedes would always be found with a brush in hand, drawing out her emotions. What about Marcus? You see, Marcus is a great writer―he writes down all his thoughts and he can explore his deepest sorrows. One thing that the three very special siblings love is playing together and inventing a thousand different games, but there is something that worries them ―soon they will move to a new, safer house in another country. Seeing their parents so sad and watching their house being reduced to boxes breaks their soul. However, they will discover that if they stick together, they will always have a loving home.

JUEGO DE NINOS

"Los tres juntos pasan la mayor parte de las mananas y las noches creando y se olvidan de todo, hasta de si han cenado."

We read the Spanish translation for homeschooling today.

It is about 3 Latin siblings. Damian likes to compose and sing music about a happy world where no one is sad or tired, although the world likes to shout over this happiness.

Mercedes is a great artist that likes to paint worlds she has never been to but may know very well. Whatever emotion is in her heart she portrays through colors.

Marcos is the baby and a grand writer. Whenever he finds inspiration or has thoughts this is what he writes about. He has so many journals filled from front to back.

They are moving to a whole new country and are very scared and nervous. Although the house might be smaller and not very nice, they are taught --Home is where your family and heart are--

So the author did something so clever within these pages. The backgrounds of the pages show the media and protesters and newspaper clippings with news within the country, like clues to the reader that's really looking. The kids and I noticed the Buenos Aires details in the origami but we couldn't find the year. We thought maybe the country was protesting the bank and starvation of the time. Lots of people had liquidation, for sale, closed signs on their properties. Very interesting work by author and illustrator. I wish the author would have left a backstory for the parents at the end.

The pictures were beautiful and bright on recycled paper, very soft.

Published using environmentally safe materials and ready for recycling.
This is the story of Danny, the singer; Molly, the artist; and Marcus, the writer. They are friends who are facing a move.

Firstly, the physical book itself. It's printed on Stone Paper and feels different than any book I've held before; the pages are very smooth, thick, almost plastic-like. It's received a silver Cradle to Cradle certification: no trees, no water, no bleach.

Secondly, the story. Three children living and growing, while in the background: revolution and economic depression and turmoil. They are who are moved by their parents to a new country, and though that is stressful, they learn that "home is wherever they can be together."

I don't care for the illustration art, but it isn't a flawed book - just a matter of preference.

May not be the greatest English speaker, but a sentence did sound a bit off, to me. Maybe something odd in translation
