One of the best collection of player portraits of Rugby League greatness. The stories are riveting, moving, and passionately written and takes you into the depth of Queensland's past Origin player's history.

Like many great sports writers, Burgin earns his reputation through clarity of insight, worn lightly. His writing lacks the pomposity of some of the oft-cited “doyens” of rugby league journalism.

Great read. Good insights into what made all players motivated to the next level player. The back story to the kid behind the champion.. Most footy tragics know the stories behind the Wally Lewis, Big Mal and other Queensland legends. This covers everyone and their story. Highly recommend to sports fans to people who love biographies. Well written.
