Re-Visioning Our Sources Women's Spirituality in European Perspectives

Rate this book
Many traditions of Christian spirituality derive from visions and testimonies of women saints and mystics, such as Mechthild of Magdeburg, Hildegard of Bingen and Teresa of Avila. In order to be accepted by their church they had to speak in double-voice discourse and suppress their own physical and emotional desires. In search for their own spirituality today, European women have to deal with these traditions and re-vision them. This book offers an account of the discussion within the European Society of Women in Theological Research (ESWTR) about women's spirituality.
