I received this book as gift, and I was eager to read it. As an avid bicyclist I enjoy riding my bike in areas of State of Wisconsin I have not been to. Each ride that the book explains contains complete details for directions, mileage, terrain, traffic flow, rest stops, and notable landmarks, along with easy-to-read maps, black and white photos, and listings for accommodations.
The problem with this book is that all the maps, details, and directions are in this book which a rider either memorizes or takes the book with you to complete the ride. You can copy these directions but for me I would be pulling out these directions ever so often in order to complete the ride. The other issue I have is the safety of these roads that you travel on. If you are not a seasoned rider you undoubtedly be riding on the shoulder of these roads. Cars and bicyclist never mix, and you really have to be safe when riding one. I wish the author would have chosen more State of Wisconsin bike paths to complete these rides. There are so many ones that are truly safe and scenic to ride on.
Overlooking those issues, the book does take you on routes that are some of the most scenic areas of Wisconsin. Enjoy them but ride at your own risk!
