Hidden Depths is a jaw-dropping sci-fi novella with echoes of the Welsh myth of Cantre Gwaelod (Wales’s very own Atlantis situated along the shore of Cardigan Bay). One of the the titles in the Quick Reads literacy scheme. Rees has been running away his whole life. But when a legend from his childhood turns out to be fact rather than fiction, he is drawn deeper into a hidden world that reveals a troubling truth - not just about his present, but also his past. The choice is keep running, or stay and fight.

This is part of a quick reads project, it's a 120 pg book to get you to enjoy reading again. It has a sci-fi edge and although it's short I really enjoyed it.
It had legends, sci-fi and dragons.

While I know it was a short story, the writing felt really basic, like a GCSE English exercise rather than the writing of an author. The story felt like it hadn't been thought through from start to finish, rather just what had popped into the author's head.

i know it was a quick read but i’m a little sad there wasn’t more. moved at a good pace and built so many character arcs in such little time, but i’d love to know what happened next
