What happens when the apocalypse is over; to love, strained and torn?
How do you pick up the pieces, when life stabilises?
It's a question our heroes must ask themselves, when they're no longer fighting off swarms of monsters, no longer struggling for Credits and Levels.
Valentine's in the Apocalypse is set four years after the System Apocalypse has arrived, between books 5 and 6 of the System Apocalypse and features new characters. The story is set in Vancouver, BC.

An interesting apocalypse has settled over the Earth and now Humans are just kind of used to it. In this story, we meet Teddy and his wife. Teddy, so wrapped up in his work, forgets that it’s Valentine’s Day and shrugs the whole thing off, until something changes his mind.
This was of course a very short read (clocking in at 34 entire minutes) (I listened to the audiobook), but that doesn’t mean it was short on depth and a story. We’re several years past the initial apocalypse and people have just settled in to what life is like now. Teddy sees that his wife is upset about his lack of affection and seems to be pulling away and he does something about it.
I didn’t realize that this was a series of short stories that are inserted between a long line of a book series, so I’ve excitedly started the first in the actual series. Time will tell if I stick around, though I’m really enjoying what I’m (hearing) so far. (Another audiobook.)
A cute story that is way too in touch with our current reality being over saturated with stimuli. The world as we knew it ended, but humans are resilient and push through. The survivors do not always realize what they lost with the systems arrival, but this couple at least found some light in their love.
This is a very very short addition to the System Apocalypse World. It's more a glimpse into normal life post system apocalypse than featuring The New world in detail.
