Promise Me Forever

Rate this book
Olivia Lancaster
My life couldn’t get much worse. Am I destined to be a small-town girl for the rest of my life?
Crap, maybe I was.
But I want to live. I want to see things. I want to do things, all kinds of things. Even very naughty things. Things I know nothing about.
But I’m running out of time.
I was born and raised in Falls Village, Maine, not in the McMansions, but not in the rundown old factories that were a poor excuse for apartments either. Nope, I grew up in the middle.
It’s the story of my life.

Matthew James
I’m living my best life. Destined for great things in the wild world of Hollywood. My big-screen career is flourishing. But life should hold more than that, shouldn’t it?
Fuck, maybe not.
But I want to be a better man; I want to be more than just a pretty face with deep pockets and my expertise with women. I want to find a woman who wants me for who I am. Something I know nothing about.
So I’m running away from the limelight.
Born and raised in Falls Village, Maine, I’m the family fuckup who will never be fit for family life.
It’s the story of my life.

One chance meeting...
After bumping into Falls Village’s Hollywood celebrity (literally), Olivia’s life gets way more interesting.
Once Matthew finds a woman who doesn’t care about his money, he looks at life differently.
But can a small-town girl be the one to change the playboy ways of a Hollywood actor for good? Or will Olivia be left in the middle again, this time stuck between a broken heart and the future she craves?
Can a man who never thought love was necessary become a family man?
Will Matthew James destroy the small-town girl, or will he promise her forever?

Kitty Berry

Kitty Berry grew up an only child who never wished for a sibling in a small town in Connecticut. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education, she began teaching in the field and started to raise a family. Her literary influences happened later in life when she stumbled upon The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve after seeing it featured on the Oprah Show. It was her late mother’s (whose name she uses as a pen name) desire of becoming a writer that prompted Kitty to create a contemporary romantic series.
Being a creative person by nature who came into writing during a time in her life when the busy balance of career and family made her crave an escape into the world of romance, Kitty took that desire and turned it into a romantic series that offers the reader multidimensional characters.
In 2013, she published her first novel from The Stone Series, Sliding. Since then she has written 10 other novels in that series, among them Stoned, Second Chances, Surrender, Starting Over, and Silence. The final installment, Survivor was released in 2016. A holiday edition was released in late 2018.
Since then, Berry has released a trilogy titled, The Anatomy of Love and written a carry-over stand-alone novel, Vines of Ivy. In 2019, she released the Compatible Companions Trilogy.
Because angst-ridden, plot-driven, women's contemporary romances mesmerize Kitty, Berry writes only in that genre. While each book in The Stone Series can stand alone with its own story, Berry’s intention was to create carry-over characters to satisfy the need of the reader to know more after each novel ends. As an avid reader herself, Kitty enjoys the feeling of being there with the characters inside the story and often finds herself wanting to know more about them, missing them when the story is over, and becoming excited all over again when she discovers those familiar characters in subsequent novels. It is her hope that The Stone Series will do the same for her readers.
Kitty is married to a man she met in graduate school and has three boys who are almost men.
Kitty recently founded RomantiConn (a romance author signing event annually held in CT) and is currently working on the Falls Village anthology hybrid with her fellow RomantiConn authors.

I received an ARC of Promise Me Forever, the fifth book in the amazing Falls Village series. This story includes some of the delightful characters in the first four books in this series and centers on Olivia Lancaster who accidentally literally bumps into Matthew James, a Falls Village Hollywood celebrity and brother to the mayor Max James and Mason James when delivering baked goods to Colleen's Shop Spill the Tea. There is an immediate attraction but Olivia does not recognize at first who Matthew is. Olivia has never dated before so Matthew realizes that he has to take things slow with Olivia. Olivia's passion is baking which she does early in the morning so that she can help her mother at her mother's hair salon. Matthew has found a girl who does not care about his money and begins to see life differently. Can a small-town girl be the one to change his playboy ways or will Olivia be left with a broken heart? The supporting characters and some cute pets add so much depth and humor to this beautiful, exciting, and captivating romance. I fell in love with this author when reading her Compatible Companion series and she never disappoints. The Falls Village series is a series of books being written by multi RomantiConn authors which gives the reader a chance to sample authors they may not have read and allows us more time to enjoy these delicious characters and storylines.

This is a great addition to an already amazing series. Matthew and Olivia have a scorching chemistry that makes it hard to peel your eyes off them. These two are opposites, yet their complimentary personalities make them perfect for one another. The writing style and character interactions are detailed and you feel like you are right there, just hanging out as part of crew. Make sure to pick this sweet and addictive romance up on release day. You don’t want to miss out.

This is the 6th book in the Falls Village series. Kitty has put this world together with some authors from Romanticonn to share this world and their talent of writing.

Olivia is new to dating, her passion is baking, and she also assist her mom in the salon. Matthew is a celebrity and a playboy. There is an instant attraction when they meet. Their romance is a swoon worthy romance with the right amount of angst..

We catch up with past characters from this series and there is nothing better than great secondary characters..

If you haven’t checked out this series yet, why not?? Book one is called The Rest of Forever.

Perfect combination of sweet and hot. First you add in a small town girl - destined to remain that way. next you add in a hot shot Hollywood heartthrob who is just looking to become so much more. Add in a chance encounter and you have the makings for a heartwarming romance. But in true Kitty Berry style we will shake in some hot sex, angst and coming to Jesus moments. Can you really find true love when your life is consumed with faking it in front of the camera? Can you open your heart to being hurt or left behind? Olivia and Matthew's story should not be missed.

Again in Falls Village we are transported into this beautiful town and feel like we are home. I loved all the sprinklings of all the townspeople that interact with Olivia and Matthew. The town breaths life into the story.

Romantic to the max. Swoon worthy Matthew had a typical Hollywood heartthrob career and all the crazy women that goes with it. Now he is back in his hometown and runs into (literally) a women that has him questioning what he wants forever.

Olivia was so easy to fall for. I can see why Matt fell. She is awkward in an endearing way. She is straightforward and passionate about her dreams. Matt did not stand a chance.

There is only one word to describe this book. Fun. The quirky characters keep a smile on your face while drawing you in, making you feel for them at all the right moments. I love the fact that there is no melodrama. A lot of romance seems to lean in that direction. This all feels real. Some of the most romantic fun you can have with your clothes on is reading this book.
