A beautiful collection of short stories from a man whose dedication to his art forms never fails to inspire. I generally dont like reading short stories as I feel they don't have enough material to allow me to connect with the characters, but I connected and felt relatable to all the characters in this collection.
A nice little quick read which achieved to bring out hope from the lives of these broken characters.

Looking for Wildflowers is a collection of beautifully crafted eleven short stories. These are plucked from real life and put together in paper without losing their innate emotions. Eleven stories introduce eleven conflicting human beings who are trying to tackle down arduous situations. Often they found themselves stranded in their existential crisis. They like to sit in their cocoons of comfort. But when life shakes them to the ground, they are forced to find solutions to hold their lives and the lives of their loved ones.
The stories encapsulate delicate human emotions. It is a journey through love, grief, hope, fear, desire, and dreams. With simple words and masterful narration, the author manages to craft each story at its best. He opens every story introducing a challenging and emotional situation. Then carefully builds suspense which pushes the plot forward.
The one thread that connects all these lives is hope. We can find pieces of it in all stories.
Each story represents an emotion. These characters are not strangers. We met them in our busy lives. They are neglected and their stories are unheard. But these emotions are universal and we are also part of them.

'Looking for Wildflowers' is a collection of 11 heartfelt short stories. Stories that captures the change of human emotions to deep attachment of one's old memories. Every story is different from each other yet all of them have an emotional connection.

It's hard for me to select one favourite because all of them were equally beautiful to me. Whether it was the story of Arham who sees his dead brother or the story of Pramodji who finds the resemblance of his dead daughter in every neighbour patient or that old village masterji who was eagerly waiting for his best student to be their saviour. I liked them all. The last short story of this book name 'Looking for Wildflowers' is same as the title of this book. Wildflowers are not seeded or planted intentionally. They grow on their own. As such there are some feelings or emotions that grows unintentionally in our heart. May be call it love or affection or the sense of belonging for someone.

Looking for Wildflowers is a collection of eleven different short stories that even though explore different characters have the same drive at the core. Short stories are always a hit or miss for me and this collection was mostly a miss. The narration was not strong or compelling enough for me to connect with the premise most of the times. The way the characters talked and behaved was too similar which made me feel like I was reading the story of the same person in alternate universes.
The author tried his best to show us the ups and down of life and how different people deal with different circumstances in their own way. The concept was good but the execution felt dull.
The experiences the characters in all these stories had, are valid and relatable but they didn't feel as real as they should have. They didn't spark any inspiration of empathy so it just didn't work for me.
In all honestly, this book has the potential to be able to give hope to the readers if the target audience isn't subjective and just want to read a book that will help them navigate through life without being too intense. I'd recommend it to beginners.

It's a collection of 11 heart warming short stories. The stories are generally weaved under human emotions. The stories are very different to each other but there's a common essence of relationship ties among all the stories.
The author has mentioned very simple yet genuine emotions one holds within themselves, like fatherly love, loss of child, separation of lovers, unhappy marriage, brotherly bonding and many more feelings. These are some feelings which always don't express yet they always remains in our heart unsaid. The author have very well portrayed and depicted those emotions.
Honestly I really enjoyed reading each and every story. I can say that after a long time I liked a short story book and I will definitely recommend it. The narration is fast paced and the storyline are engaging. The language is lucid and clear. There's something to learn from each stories which always attracts me the most in books. The cover is pretty beautiful.

Looking For Wildflowers, as the book has been named is based upon the title of one of the stories. This collection of eleven short stories mainly focus upon the magnitude of emotions we humans have and empathy. Each story is an emotional and heartwarming read, then be it that of Anmol, Masterji's favourite student or that of Trilok, the regular reader. There was one story that focused on the topic of a kid with special needs and one about a mother being a misfit which should make you empathize and they add to the book. The writing is equal parts descriptive and narrative and the narration is in third person. The length of the stories is about 10-14 pages. The stories are moderately paced and the language and vocabulary used are simple and lucid. Engaging writing, heartwarming stories with appropriate titles and beautiful cover, this turned out to be a beautiful short read for me. Owing to the length of the book, you can finish it in one go.
The absence of the page numbers makes it a little difficult to get through the book.
Packed with a few twists in the end of some stories, I would recommend this to the beginners who like reading short stories.

Looking For Wildflowers by Krishnasish Jana is a collection of eleven different short and unique stories. All the tales have a separate genre, and at the same time, it will leave a message at the end. Each has a depth where it will make you think about what will happen next. I loved all the eleven stories, but my most fav was the second one, The Misfit.
This story has a strong and profound message. I love myself the way I am BUT, society won't let me live in peace. The same happened with Kalyani. She is married and has a kid. Kalyani doesn't like makeup, and she loves to look simple, she only uses talcum powder and seasonal cold cream, which she considered as her makeup kit. She is happy the way she is, but one day, Kalyani goes to a cosmetic store and brings makeup items. Why did she buy cosmetic products? To know the full story read this book.
The Misfit is just one story among the eleven. When one short-story is exciting, imagine how the rest will be. To read all, GRAB YOUR COPY NOW! I highly appreciate the author to write such incredible stories and adding a message at the end. I recommend this book to everyone. It is a must-read.

These short stories has a wide range of genres . They are like a basket of various types of fictions that has the ability to grasp your attention. With some really smooth pace , they touch intricacies of life.
Various twists in the effective time made me feel their depth .
Life is unpredictable with constant ups and downs. Hearts own affairs with the changing surrounding makes us witness so many moments of life , few of which become unimaginable and wonderful !

This book is a collection eleven stories. Each story though has a different scenario but is equally captivating and is so emotional that you feel at places a hurricane of emotions rises within you.
I was moved by many characters in different stories. Like Arham’s unspoken craving for his parents’ attention; the blacklash Kalyani receives from society for not wearing makeup, heavy jewellery , or expensive sarees ; and many more such interesting stories.
The pen has the author is so mighty that I could deeply feel the emotions in each story. To be true, tears rolled down my cheeks while reading one of the stories ‘ Master ji’. I could feel that the author is a deep observer , and that’s why could create these characters which left a deep impression on my soul. Moreover, the stories are so close to ground reality.
Language is really easy. Glossary is enriched. Writing style is captivating. Cover page is really very beautiful .Title is named after one of the short stories in the book.
If you like to feel emotions vicariously and like to read short stories, then I am sure you will really cherish this book and appreciate it. I really look forward to read more from the author.

The initial stories were amazing! Very warm to the heart with a tingle of emotional touch. However, I did find the last two stories very problematic.
There are certain lines which made me cringe, such as “the woman you love somehow looks more beautiful when she cries for you.” this appeared one of the problematic things in the book.
The writing style is amazing and all stories are unique and well written. I really enjoyed reading them. However, in this day and age, I would’ve expected the book to not have gender roles assigned, because of which it didn’t live up to my recommendations.
Out of the 11 stories, I loved 10 a lot. The last one seemed very unnatural to me and I did not like a lot of elements in that one. This book would’ve been a 4-star read for me if not for that one story.
I do recommend this collection, especially to beginners since it has a very simple language with excellent flow.

I personally liked MISFIT, HOMECOMING, and LOOKING FOR WILDFLOWERS.
There are a lot of takeaways for the readers from this book. It's definitely a PAGE TURNER, keeps you hooked throughout the end. The writing of the author is very eloquent and meticulous. The cover of the book is mesmerizing and the title is appropriate for it.
I would recommend this for beginners and people who are looking to read a fast-paced short story books.

This book is a collection of 11 short stories, all from different genres.
The author has tried to show the struggles of people and how they cope up with them. This made the book extremely relatable!
The book gave me mixed feelings because it was an emotional rollercoaster! I felt happy, sad and curious at the same time due to the variety here! It was such a delight to read this.
I loved all the 11 stories, but the one that I liked the most was ' A stranger in the mirror'.
The only downside according to me is that the writing was not as impactful as I would have liked it to be. The idea was nice, but the description lacked depth.

Looking for Wildflower by Krishnasish Jana is a collection of short stories which touches over various genres and issues but is still able to stay true to it's light hearted themes and humor. The stories are short, well written, and are quite easy to understand. They are emotionally engaging, enthralling at the same time.

Looking for Wildflower is a collection of 11 short stories by Krishnasish Jana.
We humans are made up of emotions and feel and this short stories are all about human emotions whether it's love, admiration, Heart break, longing for a loved one or a hear filled connection.
The stories keep you gripped and you find yourself finishing them one after another. And how beautiful is that cover picture. So beautifully summarised the stories.
My personal favourite one would be the one titled "Looking for Wildflower". Such raw emotions in that story, the perfect stories to end the book.
The language is easy and the flow of the stories is smooth. Finished the book in one setting itself as the story and emotions in them kept it interests till the end.

Collection of such engaging short tales and among the bunch ‘ home coming’ is my favourite. It was poetic, and written with a deep sense of longing. It was so wonderfully raw, I loved it. Every tale was lovely.

In between each breath of life, a new story unfolds. 'Looking for Wildflowers' by Krishnasish Jana is an endearing collection of short stories, each encapsulating a flavour of its own. Each story shows life from the eyes of varied, unique characters.
After a long time, I read a collection of short stories that made me tear up. While each of the stories was absolutely beautiful, some of them probed deeper. The stories, 'Elixir' and 'The Wait' made me so hopeful, happy and sad at the same time. While reading this book, I had so many emotions running through. This is what I look for in short stories, not only impeccable, simple writing that captures every inkling of emotion, but also holding the capability to move the readers in those few pages. There was no emptiness in the writing. Each word was carefully placed, and each story was unique.
There were slight typos that would be unfair not to mention. But the beauty in the stories didn't let me ponder over these mere errors.
Overall, whether it's seasoned or new readers, you will love this book. It's light-hearted and heavy at the same time. The perfect combination of a short story collection.

This is what I look for in short stories, not only impeccable, simple writing that captures every inkling of emotion, but also holding the capability to move the readers in those few pages. There was no emptiness in the writing. Each word was carefully placed, and each story was unique.
There were slight typos that would be unfair not to mention. But the beauty in the stories didn't let me ponder over these mere errors.
Overall, whether it's seasoned or new readers, you will love this book. It's light-hearted and heavy at the same time. The perfect combination of a short story collection.

This one is a collection of short stories, and every story is such a gem, that it ends up making the book priceless. As I have been mentioning that I am a smitten kitten over this book, which is mostly because of the simplicity with which the emotions have been put on paper.
It’s easy to find people with a high level of IQ but tough to find people with a high level of EQ, and almost all the central characters had that, which was a major attraction for me. Also I was really impressed with the Indian aspects that prevail in the book, because that made me relate to the book all the more.
I could sense that the author’s writing style is quite similar to that of Ruskin Bond, and was a game changer for me, because that added to the charms of the book. Since this book is so heavy on emotions, there are some dark parts in the stories but the good thing is that the gloom is not consistent. The author has beautifully given life to the idea of rain on a sunny day, the conclusion that I could draw out was that, at times it’s okay to be in a dark situation in order to see the light in future.
Overall I really liked the book, I’d like to give it all the stars and not just five. I’ll recommend it to people, who are willing to read a good book with spiritual elements.

We, humans, are chiefly driven by emotions. If not, we would have been obsolete long back. When we say emotions, they are diversified according to various situations. But commonly we are clinched to very few emotions in our day to day life.
This book " Looking for wildflowers" by Krishnasish Jana is a compilation of 11 short stories which are different from one another but tows us to one point that is emotion. You can explore a unique form of human attachments and feelings here. After reading this author's debut novel " The PaintBrush" I had huge expectations on him and thankfully he didn't disappoint me this time too.
An abandoned elder son, an old teacher's expectations, a mom seeking happiness where she lost it and so many. You can probe to few other impeccable stories similarly. This book made me feel happy, sad, hopeful all at the same time. These are such consoling stories and I feel like I have read stately relaxing short stories after a long time. I couldn't choose one favourite as each story is beautiful in its own way. Guys this is a perfect monsoon read, pick it up. Also, I think, the flawless storytelling layered all other demerits. I couldn't find any. I have just enjoyed every bit of this book.

"Looking for Wildflowers" consists of eleven beautifully penned short stories, each devouring the readers into a world of philosophical loveliness. Looking for Wildflowers is my second read by the author and I was very impressed by the first read. But this book left me completely astonished by its enchanting words and plots. It narrates about human relationships, beauty of nature and art. Alike the author's first book, Looking for Wildflowers too had a few elements of the artistic kind. Which enhanced the magnificence of this book even more. The writing style is lucid and the cover art is very aesthetic. I personally loved the tenth and eleventh story most. But I think all of them carried a very deep meaning behind, highlighting the reality around us which we often ignore but once read leaves an everlasting impact in our hearts. So, I'm very thankful for having an opportunity to read this beautiful book. And I'd recommend everyone to read it as well.

Looking For Wildflowers by Krishnasish Jana is a collection of short stories. This is such a beautiful book! The short stories will hook you since the first one! They are diverse in nature, which makes it even more of an amazing book. The stories contains various emotions, taking you on a roller coaster ride.
The language is lucid. So anyone can pick up this book and read it! I recommend this book to each and everyone. So if you're a beginner or going through a slump, or looking for a light read which you can enjoy! Go for it!

Fundamentally an ingrained self-image and persistent identity are profoundly profused with the mind that opens the wings of freedom for a person to live the way he/she is. nevertheless, the external appearance imparts a toned signal, creates a perception cloud and brings an identity superficially drawn from the eyes of the others in society.
The intent influence of the society penetrates through a permeable membrane to innermost layer to shake the core integral phenomena and translate more than the permissible limit of the standard of oneself. Abrupt change takes place like the way it happens with Kalyani, she adopts cosmetics products into her life which she usually does not smear on her unlike her simple talcum powder and cold cream as bare as a minimum. The window of curiosities is tied at the end of stories to open think tank, to instigate the brain through the ringing bell of questions what's next.

Excellent cover with perfect title.
Individual story reviews:
1. Arham and Zayan's characterization and relationship was so beautiful.
2. The second story described a lot in detail about beauty. It explained clearly that being yourself is more important than being pressurized by external stuffs.
3. This story was sweet with a beautiful ending.
4. Elixir described the feeling of giving someone a home, the most precious gift they can ever get.
5. The wait explained the feelings of old age people and the togetherness they get , when they express their feelings after so long.
6. World's best Kichdi was yummy and great. The way they reacted and discussed about food items were sweet.
7. After life was all about living in the moment. It focussed more on what you wish to do.
8. A stranger in the mirror was okayish. Felt like author had concentrated too much on writing style rather than the actual plot.
9. The ending twist was awesome in Braille. Turns out that the man is also blind.
11. Homecoming was so terrific. A well crafted story. Realizing that Aadi is dead took awhile to understand.
12. Nirupama's characterization was so good. The way she deals with her husband, the painting thing and accepting life as it is was something very heavy.
A great read, on the whole!

Tittle - " Looking for wildflowers" is an accurate tittle for this book. Your view will be more specific about the tittle after reading the blurb. Wildflowers aren't a centre of attraction for people. This would be interesting to know that why author wants to see wildflowers.
Cover- cover is well designed and every minute details gives an aesthetic look to this beautiful cover. Colour choice could be more vibrant but it works somehow.
Blurb- the blurb portion is well written and beautifully descripted. The person behind this tried his best to not reveal any extra information which may reveal any story.
Storyline- The book is consisted of 11 stories of different persons. They aren't relevant to each other which gives a diversity to this book. The author tried his best to not mix up the characters. Every story is very unique on its way , but I couldn't choose my favourite one. If you're a beginner , then you may fell in love with this book . But, An experienced reader may not find the charm . Narration and description could be better, but it was a good try by the author. Overall, I loved the uniqueness of the book. I wish that in future I may get more stories from the author.

A non-fictional book with true stories
I’ll say that I just feel lucky to read such a wonderful book. It just amazed me. Firstly I would like to give an introduction to the book. It contains a number of stories, not very long but all are based on true events, I feel. From the first story itself, it captured all my attention. I was not listening to anyone and just reading the book. The author has put up such stories which can make someone emotional as well as curious about the next part of the story.
Now coming about the stories, the first story tells about a boy who sees some visions of his dead brother who suffered from a disorder. He met with an accident and wanted to say something to him but could not complete his last sentence.
The second story says about a lady who loved to live a simple life without using make-up or pieces of jewelry to enhance her beauty. But the people of her society were unable to accept her.
So to know whether the visions of the boy will end or he will carry them to his grave and will the protagonist of the second story be accepted by the society or will she change herself according to society, you need to give this book a read.

These short stories are all about human emotions. Be it love, grief, regret, heartbreak, guilt, an old teacher's expectations, a mother seeking for happiness, a mother who thinks that she's a misfit for her child and a lot more.

I loved the simple yet effective way of writing.

Looking for Wildflowers by Krishnasish Jana was an amazing read. The writing skill of the author and hard work done is really appreciative. The book contains eleven short stories and non of them are of same type or related to each other . All stories have their own plots and genres. While buying I thought I would read one story daily and it would be great but once I started , I was not able to stop myself and just completed it on the day itself. The stories are very much engaging and I just all eleven.
