Nominated for the Kindle Storyteller of the Year Award 2020Michael Hartnell's Glasgow life has been one of studying, an ordinary life as he trains to become a doctor at the University of Glasgow. He is happiest the most with his newly wed wife, Sarah. It is three days before Christmas, his first as a married man. The world around Michael is set to become increasingly dangerous. He finds himself mysteriously transported through time to the future. The date is December 22nd 2059. The world is ruled by Lucifer, The Devil. He has been The Lord of The Earth for nearly fifty years. The streets are overrun by demons and people infected with an incurable virus transforming them into monsters. The last of humanity is close to extinction and is being led in a resistance by the newly appointed leader, Tom, in what remains of Michael's hometown of Glasgow. The angels have abandoned humanity, none have set foot on the earth for decades. God is missing, no angel has seen The Almighty since the beginning of The Apocalypse. Michael attempts to learn how he travelled through time to fifty years in the future. He and Tom soon come to realise that Michael Hartnell may hold the key to ending Lucifer's reign of terror.

Scotland's answer to Game of Thrones. A terrifying depiction of life, 50 years into an apocalyptic Glasgow under the control of the devil, Lucifer. I have read this cover to cover multiple times and really can't wait for the follow up book. That cliffhanger. This is the next George RR Martin in the making.
