A Devil Like An Angel

“The accumulation of wealth is not a bad thing in itself because without the food and comfort which wealth provides, life will be penurious and drab. But always remember that any wealth accumulated on a selfish basis, at the expense of the state, in defiance of social justice helps to create a disorganized society in which everybody will eat everybody and no one can be safe.” So it begins at a meeting Alex holds at the office of the New York attorney general. The outcome makes him dejected and he plans to do something about it. Few days later at the PPC accounting firm, Frederick and Smithson (accounting gurus and owners of PPC) explain to him without mincing words that "those who are truly the wealthiest people in the world are not on Forbes or Bloomberg or any of these magazines that are in the business of publishing people’s net worth. That there are those richer than Bezos or Gates who the world will never know about because they choose to make their real wealth obscure to the world by making their account books appear to be bankrupt to tax authorities." Alex tells Margaret who is his wife and business partner about tax havens and together they put all they have into them. They move their business headquarters out of New York to Bahamas and move residence to Toronto. After all of the rejigging, they start paying no tax (becoming multiple law-breakers in the process). They become stunningly wealthy.

Five years later Margaret catches Alex and Merriam, one of Alex’s side chicks, in the act, inside their yacht on Lake Ontario in Toronto. She explodes. And all she wants is a divorce and a fair share of her investment in their jointly-owned business. But Alex turns the table against her, daring her to head to court. Margaret flies to Bahamas at the headquarters to lay hands on documents to challenge Alex in court. She stumbles on one. Then, a bullet whistles by inches above her. Dead in fears, she looks up and pointing at her at close range is the muzzle of a gun.

The bulk then stops at the desk of attorney Bayer Parker to bring Alex to book. He starts out by gunning for Alex's tax papers which are just no where to be found. One and only one thing he must do to bring Alex to book. Attorney Bayer Parker suddenly dies mysteriously. Then, the FBI comes in, and agent Fred Becker must join all the dots and unravel the cause of these mysterious deaths.
