Libro veloce e scorrevole, ma che ti prende e ti trascina in quel mondo facendoti provare un turbinio di emozioni come la protagonista.
Rispetto ad Ad Martem 12, c'è un grande miglioramento della caratterizzazione dei personaggi e nell'espressività della scrittura.

Da come ho potuto leggere, questo romanzo ha delle miscele di genere azione/distopico, con una storia d'amore che si sviluppa tra la protagonista e un suo superiore.
Avevo già letto libri di questa autrice, e tra quelli pubblicati mi mancava solo questo. Devo dire che mi aspettavo di più. Il cerchio narrativo può dirsi di essersi chiuso in questo volume autoconclusivo, ma poteva essere descritto molto meglio. La narrazione, infatti, si concentra soprattutto sulla storia d'amore - che comunque non sembra essere sviluppata bene, e tutta l'ambientazione esterna dello Stato di Blazar, l'Arma, la Guerra, il processo di selezione, le famiglie dei vari personaggi... Tutto questo è solo accennato appena, e senza una relativa descrizione ogni cosa che succedeva sembrava quasi messa lì a caso. Ho trovato quindi la narrazione abbastanza sbrigativa, ma devo dire che certi passaggi erano molto profondi. La struttura era già stata pensata in precedenza e i dialoghi filavano abbastanza bene.
Ci tengo a dire queste cose all'autrice perché so che ha talento e che può migliorare, perciò volevo darle dei consigli. In un genere distopico, in una città inventata con un'ambientazione nuova, è fondamentale descrivere nel dettaglio come funziona il Governo e cosa sta succedendo con gli stati nemici. Perché il processo di selezione contro la volontà dei ragazzi? Se ci fosse un sequel che spiegherebbe tutto, la storia potrebbe anche migliorare. E consiglierei anche una maggiore caratterizzazione dei personaggi e un approfondimento delle loro relazioni con altre persone. Penso che il personaggio di Aryan fosse quello meglio caratterizzato (e quello che di più aveva chimica con la protagonista, ma questo è un mio parere personale).
Infine, penso quindi che Ad Martem 12 fosse un romanzo migliore su diversi punti di vista. Ho deciso di valutare due stelle a questo libro per due ragioni: 1) è autopubblicato, 2) leggendo altri libri di Giulia so che può fare di meglio. Spero che faccia tesoro di queste critiche, anche se magari non sono del tutto positive.

I read the previous book published by the same author and I admit that I see a big transformation, either in language an in characters' deep investigation, too. Here are my considerations:
1-Reading this book in Covid time, it's an healing exercise for mind and soul. Maybe the "love story" could have been a little bit more intriguing, but it is not the focal point of the book.
2- I found myself asking more then a couple of time: but if the author is not a pilot, how could she know so many details? I find big research work behind writing, here.
3- I got transmitted the same amount of adrenaline as if when watching the first episodes of "the 100" in Netflix . Only difference: it's just a book written by a very young lady on (I suppose) a very low budget. I also guess that talking and writing about war and all the related demons growing inside us, it'n not that intuitive.
4-I wait for a sequel and maybe a screen adaptation.
5-O my gosh, I wanna take flight lessons now!
