This dark and depraved world had risen so many questions to my mind...
In the first two books, we got Daphne and Gideon's story, but their story were incomplete and with many unfinished businesses...
Now, the focus is turning to a new couple, but one that we were anticipating from the very first moment...
I was dying to get Bastian's story and to learn more about Cam... but the plot got even more compicated than before and I am waiting like crazy the next book of this series!!!
I just love the Sekten world, even though I kinda hate the pale demon that is ruling it!!!

Now, he is trying to figure out what is really happening around him and he is seeking revenge on those who had wronged him...
Cam is a complexity that he never asked for but that he was craving and I am really wondering how things between them will be played out after all!!!

I freakin' love and this book in the series!!!!
I am kind of addicted by now...
I love that I learned more about Bastian and Cam's pasts, even though things got even more complicated than before...
I loved the buzzying of electricity that these two were offering me when they were around each other...
I am really wondering where their story will lead us after that damn cliffy in here!!!
And of course, I loved seeing Gideon and Daphne again!!!
I just need more and more of this world!!!

I had been corrupted beyond redemption.
Brutal Empire by C.Lymari is book 3 in the Sekten world. Although it is a different couple from the first two books, the main storyline runs through all of the books so you do need to read Savage Kingdom and Cruel Crown before this book.
Brutal Empire follows Bas and Cam. As per most of C.Lymari’s dark books, the plot is so intricately twisted that we are left in the dark and falling from a brutal cliffhanger leaving us with so many questions for book 4!
This is a dark romance and C.Lymari doesn’t pull any punches so please heed that trigger warning.
C.Lymari bought the dark and gritty with this book, weaved with poetic lines about past and revenge, this is another hit for her and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 4!

I have been longing for Bastian’s book for what seems like forever and it’s FINALLY HERE! I had a desperate need to see what made this secretive guy tick. Brutal Empire is the next book in the Sekten series but is book one of their duet story, featuring Bas and Cam. This book is twisted, dark, angsty, mind-blowing, shocking, heartbreaking, and full of precarious situations.
Despite having triggers from a lifetime of hell, Cam is refreshing. She is strong and fierce. Her motto and mindset are based on revenge, which lines up with Bastian. They want to right the wrongs that have happened in their lives. Now take heed in knowing that there are topics of sexual abuse and human trafficking, amongst others.
Ms. Lymari has written two fantastic characters with an ending where it will blow your mind and rethink everything you have learned and read throughout the series. Claudia, I have to say, “I MUST HAVE MORE!!”

I really really like this series I love the writing it completely draws you in to a dark and depraved world the characters are complex and intriguing this story is dark the twists and turns are life and that ending left me gasping and questioning everything I just read! Bas and Cam are very interesting characters their chemistry is amazing and I can’t wait to read the next book in this series!

I need the next book ASAP!
If you like dark romances and haven't started C. Lymari's Sekten series, you're missing out!
Brutal Empire is the third book in this series. If you haven't read the first two books in the series, you need to rectify that because 1) one of my favorite heroines is in those stories and 2) these books are interconnected, so I would recommend starting at the beginning to better understand and follow along.
This story features Bas and Cam, who we've met but now we really get to learn what's happened to them that's caused them to get where they are now.
This story is hauntingly dark with triggers that should be heeded before starting. If you've read the first two books, then you understand.
C. Lymari excels at stories like this. She takes us on a journey with these characters and it's like a puzzle. She gives us all these pieces throughout that we're scrambling to try to piece together as we're reading but sometimes she throws in a few decoy pieces to throw us off. It's crazy, but with her it works and tends to leave you with your jaw on the floor!
Be warned, this story does end in a cliffhanger - and one that will leave you questioning everything you've read!

Wow! Just wow! So this book is a different couple than the first 2 books in this series but we are still on the same storyline. The twists and turns and deceit and betrayal are all forming this bigger picture that I feel is going to blow us away when everything finally unfolds. Bastian and Cam are complete opposite’s. Bastian is a very sexual person and Cam because of her past trauma is very reserved and scared of the touch of men. As the story unfolds we realize both of their pasts collide and what happens at the end of this book was completely unexpected. C. Lymari has come into this series with her dark twisted mask on and the deeper we get the more I’m in awe that she has brought this crazy story to us. Like how did she come up with this?! I can’t wait for the next book! I’m dying to know what happens next!

Am I mad? Heck yes. Am I in desperate need of the next book? HECK YES.
C.Lymari had me aching for this book and now I'm aching even more for what's next. Baz is my lifeline, he is the one male I've been pining for since this author introduced her readers to her Sekten series. I was so pumped for his story and I was not disappointed.
The angst, chemistry, tension and the entire plot was stunning. This is an incredible addition to this series, and keeping us excited with the thrilling aspects of the Sekten. I cannot wait to see what this author brings us next....hopefully she'll play nice and not hurt us toooo much.

really just need to start by simply saying what a absolutely incredible series this is . I honestly cannot remember the last time I read one that captivated quite the way this one has not to mention all the feelings it stirred in me . A emotional rollercoaster in sense of the word . On the edge of my seat heart beating so fast , speechless and trying so hard not to fall asleep because I cannot stop reading . That really is the best way I can describe what happens every time I pick up one of Claudia’s books . Brutal Empire is the third installment In her Sekten series’ as well as the beginning of Cam And Bastion’s duet - two people who could not be more opposite yet end up being so perfect for each other . This was such a beautifully written story and a very emotional read , in fact it tugged on my heart in ways I definitely was not expecting. There were moments I ended up crying so hard as my heart genuinely broke for Cam and all that she has suffered in her life . But I also loved how strong she was - it’s do to this trauma that Cam has many issues with being touched by men and letting anyone get close to her . But All that changes when Bas comes into her life . He is extremely sexual , he is also someone just like cam that has endured his own trauma and man was it heartbreaking. I really do not want to go into detail so please pardon me being so vague but In my honest opinion the best way to fully experience this amazing book is simply by picking it up and Reading it for yourself. Dark , raw , gritty , emotionally charged, suspenseful, romantic, heartbreaking, heartfelt, filed with angst , trauma, tragedy. Violence, love , second chances, healing , family , friendships, not stop action, revenge, secrete and so much more .

This book can be read alone- but it is important (for the sake of the story and knowing what you are getting into) if you have read the other Sekt books (Savage Kingdom, Cruel Crown, and even Falcon’s Prey) you know the characters, you know what these characters do, and you know that this is not a nice and pretty romance.
Our two characters, Bastian and Cam, are two characters that honestly have been through it all. Both characters have been mentioned in previous books so we have an idea of what happened and what is going on. Bastian’s backstory broke my heart, but you find out why he is the way he is and why he does what he does. Cam, this poor girl has been through it all. Seriously.. I can’t even begin to explain or describe what she’s been through.
Both of these characters are strong, twisted, and they end up always being in situations that make you go ‘what.. How.’ This book is twisted, dark, gritty, and there are moments where you think you know what’s going to happen and turns out- that is not what happens. This book is similar but very different from the other Sekt books, there are dirty scenes but this book is more of a ‘let’s figure out what is going on and confuse the reader’ book. There are plenty of flashback moments, moments with our ever lovely Daphne and Gideon, but this is a book that you need to prepare for.
This book ends in a cliffhanger of all cliffs, I’m talking 100% DID NOT SEE THAT COMING and makes me want the next book RIGHT NOW!

Both Bas and Cam are broken and see themselves as nothing but monsters. Cam is struggling to overcome the deep-seated fear she has of life and recover the memories of her past life. She flinches at human touch and shrinks away from men because they have hurt her in the past. Yet she finds a source of comfort in Bas and begins to crave his touch.

Reading this series is like watching a game of chess, seeing the pawns manoeuvred around the board, whilst other players are taken down. In true espionage form you don’t know what or when to expect to be shocked. Loving the characters and the storyline has me hooked on the deception.
Brutal Empire is Bastian and Cam’s story. Underneath all of the murky darkness is a beautiful story of learning to trust again. Giving one’s trust too easily leads her down a path of hungry wolves and betrayal of the cruelest kind. Cam has flashbacks of a life forgotten, but her “Master” mercilessly taunts her memories. Going back where it all began and facing her fears may be the only way to move forward. Gideon, Daphne, and BAS have been separated to keep Damien of their scent and it appears there may be some chinks in their relationship. Sekten will always come first and with a hard choice to make, who will come out on top Damien or Daphne. As is expected, there will be hostages and innocents caught in the crossfire.

This book was deliciously twisted, a dark and brutal read with so many mind blowing moments that left me wanting more!!!
This is the third book in the Sekten series and the first in the duet for Bas and Cam. If you have read the previous books then you know this series comes with different triggers so proceed at your own risk. With that been said I enjoyed this story so much. Claudia Lymari has a way to pull you into the story making you feel deeply for the characters and making you think that the story is going one way while in reality is not.
Cam and Bas are characters that had endure cruel and unthinkable things. Both of them are currently seeking revenge and while they may seen broken at times I see strength in them to keep fighting. Their relationship might not be a typical romance but their characters fit so well together, in a way they are helping each other heal their wounds without even knowing.
Twist and turns are all over the pages of this book, there is too many questions still in the air and the ending was just a surprise. I can't wait for the next book!

So the Sekten series is essentially broken into two parts. The first two books follow Daphne and Gideon and this book and the next follow Bastian and Cam. We had already met these characters in the first two books so when they pick up where Daphne and Gideon left off, it all makes sense. This book is set two years after the end of book two and they pick up on the same quest Daphne was on to take down Sekten from the inside out. This book is still dark. You need to heed the warnings. The things that both Cam and Bastian describe from their experience pasts are horrific and may not be for everyone (but if you got through book one and two you’ll be fine). The author leaves us on a crazy cliffhanger that makes us second guess everything we’ve learned so far. And while I think Daphne is just playing along and that Bastian will be fine, you never know since this book is that dark that if she killed off the main character I wouldn’t be surprised.

How do you review a book that makes you feel things? Please know this is a dark book. Make sure you read the author's note. In the first two books of this series I knew I needed Bas and Cam's story. This story is deeper. This story is about demons from our past and the physical scars we carry. At certain moments I felt Cam's pain. This girl was a fighter. She knew what needed to be done and started the process. Bas's story hurt my heart this man deserves kindness and love. When Cam finally opened up to Bas it was intense explosive and so much more. These two deserve each other. As for that cliffhanger, I'm still trying to gather my thoughts. The rest of the duet can't come soon enough.

I picked this up without realising that this book followed Bastian and Cam's story. I though it would still be Daphne and Gideon, since the last book has a HFN kind of ending.

Don't get me wrong, this book was very good. Lymari never fails to give us complex characters and plots so challenging and unique that you need to read her books with attention, because it all makes sense at the end.
The Sekten world is fascinating, I look forward to see more of it.

This book was worth the wait!
Even if like me you haven't read the previous books in a while, once you start it will be like you never left.
For me this book was inspirational in a dark and twisted way.
The female main character has clawed her way back from unknown hell more than once.
And if you live in the dark with no triggers like me, you'll find it a refreshing change for the character to be the one with triggers, as you can live the feelings through her thanks to this talented author.
That ending though...speechless!

Brutal Empire is book #3 in The Sekton series. This is a dark romance, make sure to check the trigger warning. It's best to read this series in order.
I've been patiently waiting for Bas' story and it's freaking amazing!
This book has everything we love from C Lymari- darkness, angst, strong characters, tension, crazy twists you won't see coming, amazing chemistry, and a cliffhanger that will have you screaming for more.
I can't wait to see what happens next!!!

I read the first two books of this series quite some time ago, so I felt a general disconnect with the plot as a whole.
I remember absolutely loving Gideon & Daphne's books. So I guess expectations were high.
To all readers like me, I would suggest to re read books 1 & 2.
I am hoping maybe I can have a quick re-read before starting the next one.
Overall this was a good interesting read. Characters and their behaviour was justified with no sudden 180 in personality.
Totally wanna go for the next.

Ms. Lymari has created such a dark and devastating world that I can't seem to leave!
It was so hard to wait for Brutal Empire, but so, so worth it!
Cam and Bas…ahhhhh! I want so much for them! But honestly, I'm not sure where the author plans to finally take them!
Surprises abound in this series and I'm hopeful we readers will have a pleasant surprise at the end!
It'll be another very hard wait!

This is the 3rd book from the amazingly dark, twisted Sekten series. You need to read book 1 and 2 before you read this one. If you decide to read make sure you heed the triggers before reading. This books follows Bas and Cam as we met in the previous books. The chemistry, tension and plot are truly amazing! I can not wait for the next one!

Definitely read the trigger warnings this book takes you on a dark and twisty story into the minds and actions of Bas and Cam! Will they, won’t they? Trust yet deceit, I can’t wait to figure out all these moving pieces and how they will fit at the end! Cliffhanger warning! It got me good!!

Dang! How I missed this dark world.

There is just something about broken characters, who fight, claw, drag themselves out of their pain, and darkness and become new, and changed, and so much stronger.

Oh my....PHENOMENAL!! I love dark and this one talked my language. It was perfectly executed, that held my attention all the way through. I you are like me a dark is your jam, you will love this series.

This book was amazing and I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. There were twist and turns in every chapter and you really didn't know what was going to happen next.The ending is something that I didn't see coming and I really need the conclusion to there story soon.

4.75 stars This is a dark, intense and fantastic dive right book. I was hooked and Cam and Bas have their own stuff. She is guarded with secrets but then again the book has unexpected events and twists. Enough to keep you invested.

Omg I’ve been waiting forever for Bas’s book!!! Omg the angst the drama and tension jeez almighty I freaking loved it can’t wait for the second book!!! Fantastic work
