This series for middle school students reading below grade level incorporates engaging articles and writing exercises designed to stimulate and hold the interest of all students. Lower reading levels are achieved through the application of controlled vocabulary, simple sentence structure, and clear directions. Students practice writing personal narratives, persuasive letters, and expository pieces with a research component. Within each activity, students are exposed to grammar lessons, graphic organizers, technology tips, and opportunities for revision, evaluation and publishing.
