Racquel Alexander, Owner of Charles’ Barber Experience, is consumed with extending her father’s legacy by expanding the Barber Experience into new markets. Losing her father changed Racquel’s worldview, narrowing her focus to only those things that help her father live on and not just in her memory.
Khalid Ali, Director of Investments for Ali International is all about the business of conquering new territories, investing in new ventures, and expanding his family’s legacy. He is persistent, determined, and focused.
A thunderstorm, a flat tire, and a knight in shining armor coming to save her changes the course of Racquel’s existence, but not in a good way. That accidental encounter brings her nemesis, Khalid Ali, into her orbit, rocking Racquel’s foundation and disturbing every preconceived notion she ever had of him. Holding on to old things is easy. Accepting new things is hard. Khalid dares Racquel to accept new things like how his nearness compels her soul to swoon and her heart to thunder in her chest; and how their undeniable magnetism seismically shifts the atmosphere and causes the earth to quake under their feet.
When enemies become lovers, it's tumultuous and passionate and confusing and incredible. When enemies fall in love, it’s unpredictable.
This was a process, because she couldn’t stand him….and he reciprocated her feelings….these two were high school classmates and truthfully Khalid didn’t really understand why Racquel didn’t like him…fast forward 10 years later and we later find out that deep down she really did like him….the courtship begins.
Well, Miss Granger, whenever I "think" I have found my favorite Ali; you go and make me love another one! Khalid is Ali bae now! ❤ You know what they say about assumptions. That is what comes to mind, when I think of Raquel. Making assumptions about a person because they seem too good to be true, in your opinion, and then choose to not like them because of your thoughts. What? Khalid, self-assured, smart and handsome was always curious as to why Raquel didn't like him. That intrigue caused him to like her more, because she didn't like him. Raquel was a stubborn, and hard to deal with, but Khalid was determined; and there was just this intense pull toward her that he could not deny. It was like the both of them were able to feel the pull of the other's heart, although their minds hadn't caught up yet. Once Raquel allowed herself to actually "see" Khalid through a clear lens, she saw the great person that everyone else saw; and he wanted her. Getting on the same page, was magic! The love that they shared was so beautiful! More Ali men please! 😅 Great read! 👍👍👍
Khalid and Rocky had a love hate relationship. Rocky loves to hate him, but she truly had no reason. She judged him when they were younger for preconceived notions in her head and not actually anything Khalid had done and she hung on to those ill feelings. Sometimes dislike covers truly hidden feelings and once Khalid proved he was a great and generous guy Rocky couldn’t help but to eat some humble pie. Khalid might be my new book bae. Tall, dark, handsome, courteous, considerate and generous. What’s not to love. Can’t wait to read Naomi’s story.
Title: Khalid Author: Celeste Granger Publisher: C.G. Series: The Brothers Ali Book 3 Reviewed By: Arlena Dean Rating: Five Review: "Khalid" by Celeste Granger
My Speculation:
"Khalid" was a beautiful love story that brings Racquel and Khalid finally together. I love seeing how Racquel changed her way of thinking after talking with Khalid with her 'misconceptions and grief.' There just was something about Raquel that Khalid could not let go, and I loved how he went after what he wanted, and that was to be so helpful and loving. Now, how this will turn out, you will have to pick up this good read and see how well this author brings it all out to the reader, only leaving us with a beautiful love story.
This story was a bit different from the previous ones in the series. I liked the high school to now aspect. Although I think there were a few missteps, I enjoyed the story.
Khalid was playing no game for his love. Like his brothers, when he wants something he goes for it. Racquel could not get over her high school views of Khalid until he challenged her. From there you could tell that they would get their HEA. Khalid was loving and supporting. Great job once again, excited for the next brother in this series.
I truly enjoyed reading this book! I also Love the Ali Family! I was beginning to think that Raquel didn't know love when she saw it! I thought she was going to mess things up between her and Khalid! I know everyone will enjoy reading this book! I definitely recommend it to others!
I loved this book because it touches on persistence and shows how to truly court a woman and show love in all you do. Rocky did tend to get on my nerves but I’m glad Khalid had to take a stand in order for her to open her eyes. Bring on the next brother!!
Excellent read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Khalid and Racquel are classmates in high school that didn’t like each other. They reconnected at a school reunion. The chemistry and attraction they had for each other was undeniable. I recommend this book.
Khalid.....man of my dreams. Whatever Racquel needed or desired, he was there. She was difficult but he was patient. He wanted to show her the real him. I love these brothers!
When and Ali man falls in love it is forever. Racquel didn't like Khalid growing up. She thought he was arrogant. In reality she really liked him. It took him helping her out for her to understand that she liked him. Khalid and Racquel fell in love and live happily ever after. Very good book.
This book was so so (yes, twice) good! Khalid is my kind of man. I love all the Ali men! That wedding escort part had me in tears! I'm so glad Racquel got out of her own way. Very well written with lots of feeling and emotion.
Khalid and Racquel story is WOW a beautiful love story that keep you reading until the last page. He didn’t understand why she disliked him. But I learned that she liked him in high school but because he was such a warm and nice person and all the girls liked him she was jealous. He broke down her wall and they got their HEA.
I love the Ali brothers! I really enjoyed reading about Khalid and Racquel. ..even though Rocky got in my nerves at first I grew in her. Loved how Khalid proved himself to get and showed h wasn't the guy she thought he was. They had great chemistry and I loved them together..and it was so sweet what his brothers and dad did for her. Can't wait to read about Naomi and Tareef next! 🙂🙂
Enemies to lovers made for a very interesting story but I love how Khalid handled it. He never changed who he was and Rocky finally realized that she had no reason to hate him in the first place. Great story
The character development for this story was really good. I enjoyed Racquel and Khalid's story. I liked that it wasn't your typical boy meets girl story. It represents the misjudgment that many people in the world use to stay away from others. We fear or dislike what we don't know.
This book had me crying unexpectedly. I am such a daddy's girl it would break me if he wasn't able to walk me down the isle. These Ali men are too sweet and I love it.
Whew! Kleenex please!!! Beautiful story and beautiful characters. If that isle scene didn't move you, something is wrong. Patiently waiting for book 4. 😌
I so enjoy reading sibling series. Book 3 is well written, sizzling hot, funny, emotional, sexy, and the list just goes on. Again, the author does not disappoint her readers. Every Ali brother becomes my favorite until I read the next brother’s story. They love so hard, and each woman is perfect for them. Enjoyable story.
I started out strong with Khalid and Raquel story. I kind of lost a little interest after a while. I couldn't understand why Raquel didn't like Khalid. But I made it through I'm glad she came to her senses. Khalid and Raquel that was a fight 🤨
Omg I loved Khalid 💓 Talk about swoon worthy. It was his character for me! This book opened up and I was a little unsure because this was the first book where wealth seemed to be a factor. However, I was wrong the author was setting the stage to show his lifestyle and how giving he was. Khalid was just a genuinely good dude, family oriented, loving, caring, charismatic, and sinfully handsome. Raquel was a stubborn boss babe, that was very focused on continuing her father's legacy. Her disdain for Khalid was beyond me and irritating. Mainly because she made assumptions vs paying attention to who he consistently showed her who he was. Raquel was closed off to the possibility of love. It seemed that because she didn't grow up with a family, she couldn't dream of one. This book was so sweet and although it took Raquel awhile, Khalid remained consistent. The way his family showed up for her I mean it was everything. Can't wait to read the next book.
I see all the Ali’s brothers are getting married. And his book Rocky took Khalid love for granted. If it was any other man they would’ve gave up on her being the type of character of a real good man that Khalid is he did not give up on her he kept pushing to make her see there is someone genuine who really loves her and cares for her. It took a long time to get it but she finally got it and they are married happy for Khalid he deserves it he’s a good man and he showed that’s he a good man from day one.Sometime when you meet the right person God will bless all good things to come your way. Even though the mist of your struggles he replace someone good in your life to help you get through the struggles a lot of women like us would like to meet men like Khalid. Alpha male With a good heart.
Once again, I am in love with this group of brothers. Khalid is a sexy, suave, handsome alpha brother. I love this story of him and Raquel "Rocky." She was a bit irritating in her negative attitude towards Khalid when there was no valid reason for her dislike other than hidden attraction. I loved her dedication to continuing her father's legacy and her tremendous success, especially in a male-dominated field. Khalid was determined to show Rocky that he wasn't the bad guy she thought he was, and she could like and trust him. Their story's ending was beautiful and heartwarming. Shed a few tears when Khalid's brothers and dad all walked Rocky down the aisle to marry her forever love. This series is definitely a must-read. The family love, brotherly connections, and allowing true love into your heart is such a beautiful gift.
I really identify with Khalid and Rocky’s story. Meeting the love of your life at an early age and not knowing what to do with those feelings is so my story. The fact that they finally navigated their relationship into something beautiful and perfect was amazing. This story will make you cry, laugh, and frustrated. But in all your feelings you will smile and that is what I always enjoy when reading a story by Ms. Granger!🥰
Wow...the storyline of Raquel disliking Khalid for what she thought he was, classic but the twist of her closing her heart to love was humbling! The sweetest part of the book for me, when the Ali men escorted her down the aisle; a sweet reminder for me when my God-Mom got married and all her sons and grandsons walked her down the aisle. Khalid Ali, I loved him just as much as his brothers! Next up, Tareef!
When I first started reading I didn’t like Racquel’s attitude and I almost stopped reading. That’s when I know an author is good because I was mad at the character 😂 I like the way the author dealt with living in the past and dealing with hurt. I was able to visualize the journey because of details. I’m on to the next book 😄
