Be careful what you wish for… I only wanted to make a few friends. To fit in at Billionaire Academy. My best friend dares me to try something new. Something I’m good at. Singing is all I have, and after I serenade Tate Ingram—cocky quarterback extraordinaire—because he’s the only guy I really know here, Tate gives me more than I bargained for. A kiss. In front of the entire team. Zero to hero in three seconds flat, and I don’t know how to handle all this attention. Can I survive senior year when the quarterback wants it to look like we’re dating? Fans of fake boyfriends, opposites attract, and finding love where you least expect it will adore this clean, YA contemporary romance by Catelyn Meadows! Get it now!
Catelyn Meadows is a romantic at heart. A mom of four munchkins, Catelyn married a true-blue farm boy who still makes her heart pitter-pat, and she wanted to create stories that do the same. She also writes clean, young adult fantasy romance as USA Today bestselling author, Cortney Pearson.
Be ready to have your heartstrings not only tugged but made to go bungee jumping. Catelyn Meadows has such intense perception of how emotions and love grow or are completely shattered. Bailey is the quiet keep to yourself kind of person & suddenly has to deal with a new school, no friends and a father she hates for leaving her and her mom and hasn’t seen in years, pressure much !! Tate is the opposite, he is popular, rich and absolutely stunningly handsome, the jerk ! , but dont we all have secrets ? Once again I was mesmerised by this storyline, going from fake girlfriend to more maybe? Not only that I always find Catelyn Meadows helps the reader see other layers built in to her storylines of not just boy meets girl, but also finding many issues of normal life scenarios that are not immediately a dramatic change to the plot or even outlining the description. You just realise it’s there and hope it’s one that can be solved. Mind you nothing is ever “just” when it comes to her wringing every single peace of joy, sadness and regret out of you. I know it’s said a lot in reviews that people couldn’t put books down etc, however this one left an impression on me, that long after I had finished it, I still wonder what happened to the characters and would love to find out how life progressed for them. That’s pretty impressionable when you don’t want the story to end, I want more, like when you have seen a great movie and hope there will be a sequel. These are stand alone books, but why miss reading the whole series? A recommendation from me? Absolutely!!!
Let’s see what can I say about this book. Hmm. Not much really. I just know I wanted to read this book couldn’t wait until it came out. But it took me a while before I ended up reading it.
I can say I wasn’t disappointed at all but. But I’ll say this that Charly girl had it out for both Tate and Bailey and not realizing that she couldn’t kill Tate.
The crazy part about it is she didn’t get expelled from school. I don’t agree with that but at least both her and Carson got a punishment that was well needed. I think Carson was a bit jealous of Tater Tot.
Especially when Bailey came into the picture. But what was crazy was that the boy was an idiot because he was listening to everything Charly told him smh! Like he was such a player but he let Charly control his mind a lot when it came to Bailey and Tate.
Which I thought was crazy but at least both those fools learned a lesson about how you can’t hurt someone because your sickly jealous they move on or got the new girl. Smh!!! But at least everything worked out in the end and Tate wasn’t mad with Bailey for not telling him...
Oh but one thing that got me was everyone kept calling them siblings and I was like smh they aren’t even kin to each other to be called brother and sister. So them dating isn’t a problem at all because they are ONLY step-siblings they aren’t blood-related at all. I was glad that both their parents understood and didn’t care.
I loved this book! Bailey and Tate face all kinds of obstacles - first from each wanting to date someone else, to making enemies, to the notoriety of their relationship because of Tate's popularity, to them being steps. Also, Bailey was so scared to sing for anyone except close friends, and as she sings for Tate, she's also noticed more - this is huge for such a private person. I love how at each hurdle - from school life to family life, Bailey crosses them and grows in confidence and knowing herself better than ever. These are great teen themes that come together to make an amazing story!
I loved Bailey’s book. She was thrown into a new school because her father thought it would be better for her. The fact that she would be closer by didn’t hurt.
She missed her old high school and just wanted to do her work and be left alone. Then she stated making friend. The quarterback of the football team turned out to be her step brother.
Loved seeing how Bailey and Tate’s relationship progressed through the book. Also her renewed relationship with her father.
You can’t go wrong with a Catelyn Meadows book. She is a wonderful storyteller. Her plots and characters are down to earth and very believable.
I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
This romance is full of twists and turns, some mean girl attitudes, and medical issues. I appreciate how the author dealt with the raw feelings of children who have been through divorce
