Peterson Field Guide to Freshwater Fishes (North America) by Lawrence M. Page and Brooks Burr (Houghton Miflin 1981)(597.09297). This guide covers all 790 species of fish found in North America above Mexico. It includes identifying marks, ranges, and 377 maps. My rating: 7/10, finished 1984.

This was a very interesting book about freshwater fish identification. It would be very interesting to identify the fish in the stream
