In his latest novel, Kirt Wood, talently transmits his love of Provence and his passion for the history of France, by revealing to us, in a police intrigue constructed like a tarot deck, all the facets, manners, exuberances and perversions of a certain nobility of the 18th century, in a famous castle nestled in the heart of the Provence countryside ... I loved it !!! Caroline Floch

An incredibly original novel, mixing erudite historical romance, clever whodunnit and ‘roman à clef’ with dexterity.
Set in lovingly rendered 18th century Provence and delving into the debauched lives of part of the old local nobility, the story takes us on one woman’s accidental and tortuous journey to emancipation.
I particularly loved the tarot deck references, and the “Dangerous Liaisons” vibes.
If you want to read something out of the ordinary, treat yourself to a trip to libertine 18th century France and give this little gem a whirl.
