Alexia Chase’s Unraveled is a fast-paced, emotionally charged, sexy, contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

Can a man who’s been burned find love with a woman who’s full of sunshine and happily ever afters?

Kameron Willoughby

His mom walked out the door when he was twelve and never looked back. That was Kameron’s first taste of a woman letting him down, but certainly not the last.
Over the years, he’s caught his high school girlfriend with his best friend. And his last girlfriend used him to humiliate another woman. To say he’s bitter and looking to lick his wounds is an understatement.

When his cousin offers him a place to stay in Sunnyville, he jumps at the chance. Little did he know, he’d meet Little Miss Sunshine herself.

Layla Malone

She’s looking for Mr. Right, and he has some big shoes to fill. The men in her family have loyal hearts and a helping spirit. The biggest complaint people have about her is that she’s always rushing off to rescue someone. Why’s that such a bad thing?
The first time she meets Kameron, she’s wrangling ducklings when one accidently falls into a rainwater drain.

Kameron couldn’t be farther from what she’s looking for. He’s grumpy, doesn’t like animals, and thinks she’s a do-gooder. Every time they meet, she’s jumping headfirst into helping someone, and he’s lecturing her on taking unnecessary risks.
What happens when two people, who have nothing in common, keep getting thrown together?

One thing that’s soon apparent – they have an undeniable scorching chemistry that has them both unraveling.

Will they stay enemies? Do they have more in common than they think?

Can Layla show Kameron that there’s light after the darkness? Or will Kameron destroy Layla’s belief that life is sunshine and rainbows?

This story is filled with breaking preconceived notions, resolving miscommunications, learning to appreciate your past, and healing old wounds.

There’s also some duck wrangling, cat rescuing, sexy firefighting, and an eighty-year-old man’s rushed delivery to a nursing home before his erectile dysfunction medication wears off.

Are you ready to enjoy the next Everyday Hero? Kameron’s one Grumpalicious fireman.

"This story was so much fun to read, Layla with her quirky, fun personality and Kameron, the sulking, hot firefighter will heat up your kindle.

Kameron has moved to the small town after a horrible situation with an ex, and his mother that left when he was a young boy. He has sworn of women and relationships, until he meets Layla.

Layla, the fun loving home town girl that everyone loves. Her first meeting with Kameron doesn’t bode well for them.

Follow these two and Kameron learns to love again, and Layla learns to love for the first time.

I really liked this story and I really love this cover! #win #win

My first read by this author was a complete #fail but it was just my first read so of course I’m going to read more before ... you know …

I super stoked how well I meshed with this story! I almost let it pass me by!! There’s a saying out there that goes something like “no two people read the same book” and I am a huge believer in that. No matter how hard you try to be unbiased in your reading, you always bring baggage with you when you read. Your personal circumstances will always play a part in how well you mesh with a story. I don’t know why I just threw that in here except to maybe drive home the point that you shouldn’t write off an author too quickly if you don’t mesh with one of their books.

About Unraveled … it was entertaining and developed nicely. I especially enjoyed how different Kameron and Layla’s perspective on life was but they each fit the other perfectly. The story was well paced with good chemistry and wit. The only tiny negative, for me, was really the lack of communication or rather the abundance of miscommunication these two seemed to carry on thru most of the book. It’s not my favorite characteristic to read because it just drives me bananas but all in all it’s a good story!

This was my first time reading this author, and I was just so impressed by the emotional, hilarious and HOT story she created!! I have been loving all these installments in the Everyday Heroes world, and this is definitely one of my favorites!

Kameron is trying to put his life back together after his ex completely imploded it, so when his cousin offers him a house in Sunnyville, he accepts it no questions asked. He's hoping this new start will turn his life around -- but hes not at all interested in falling into another relationship. Until he sees Layla helping the infamous Gertrude and and her baby ducks cross the road. Cue a meet-cute with all the chemistry.. And insults!

Layla can't help but stop thinking about the newest member of the town, no matter how gruff he might go been. Something about him just lights her on fire, but he's not the settling down type -- and she most definitely is. Can they act on their attraction and keep their hearts safe? Or will they both be another causality of love?

Like i said above, this is one of my favorite books in this spin off world! It took me a bit for Kameron to really grow on me, but I loved the connection that he and Layla shared. Their chemistry was red hot, and that dirty talk was definitely panty melting! The only criticism I have is that I wished these two would have just *listened* to another and communicated better. That would have solved so many of their problems. Other than that though, this is a wonderful quick romance with all the feels!!

**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**

I love reading books written by this author and I love her style of writing. This book is part of The Everyday Heroes World Series and is a great addition to the collection.

Kameron is a fireman and a guy that keeps himself to himself and after coming to town just wants to be left alone and he feels let done. The only thing is is Layla, she wasn't what he was expecting and now he's seen her things begin to change.

Layla is such a good person and will give you her heart fully and wears it on her sleeve. She helps anyone in need and you cant help but love her, she really is good people. She is cute and quirky and will do anything to help someone in trouble.

This book is my first in this series and it was a good read. The story flows and the characters were great. They have an amazing amount of chemistry between each other and I really love how they both are together, fate brought them both together and they are just what the other need to heal.
This book was a quick read and was enjoyable.

I loved the premise of Unraveled but the storyline was sorted out in chapter one.

I was drawn into the storyline of Unraveled immediately. Who doesn’t love a brooding hero who isn’t looking for love and Sally Sunshine where everything is sparkles! It’s one of my favorite scenarios but the first chapter of this book was the blurb. The following chapters were filler until we get to the end. There was a little misunderstanding but it was quickly remedied for them to get their HEA.
I didn’t get any passion from the main characters. It was a n easy read that I finished quickly but nothing intense.

I have read a number of Alexia Chase’s books prior to this one but this was the first book from the Everyday Hero’s World I have opened.

It’s a nice little romance that throws together a sexy (albeit grumpy, initially) firefighter with a truckload of baggage and huge trust issues when it comes to the opposite sex hero with a sunshiny, unicorns and rainbows sweet, looking for Mr. Right heroine.

From a duck induced initial meeting, these two keep bumping together, and their amazing chemistry is undeniable but with a lack of relationship experience between them both, miscommunications lead to some ups and downs along the path to a HEA outcome.
The main characters are well formed and extremely likeable, and the supporting cast makes me want to delve into the universe this was set in to read more.

An easy, light, well-paced read that I would highly recommend.

NB: I read an ARC copy in exchange for this honest review I was happy to give.

Unraveled is my first Alexia Chase book and I loved it! Kameron and Layla had me hooked. His broody, grumpy vibe and her happy clumsy self was the perfect opposites attract story.

Layla's clumsiness reminded me so much of myself I couldn't not laugh at her. He had this amazing ability to accidentally put herself in harms way. Kameron always seemed to be there to help her out. I loved his inner conflict about Layla. Kameron was fresh off a bad breakup that left a sour taste in his mouth. His attraction toward Layla was not wanted at all. Layla is 23 years old and has been waiting for someone who doesn't look at her like a kid or just a friend. Yes, I'm trying to say what you think I am.

Unraveled was a quick, fun read and was perfect for The Everyday Heroes World. Kameron and Layla had me hooked from the start. Their attraction and sexual tension was off the pages. Layla is inexperienced and it fits her personality perfect.

This was a sweet romance about a grumpy... albeit sexy firefighter having an instant attraction to our little heroine who is all sunshine and light.
Kameron and Layla are so cute together.
They compliment each other perfectly.
These two were thrown together because of circumstances but it could be just what the doctor ordered for them both.
Quick and enjoyable opposites attract read.

Wow! Just wow! Alexia Chase did not disappoint with this new book!
This book is about Layla and Kameron. Layla is a sunny, helpful young woman who never says no. Kameron is a cranky, lonely man, who is a fireman, has commitment issues and is trying to hide from his past.
This book is an addictive read that I couldn’t put down. It had me hanging on every word. It is hot and steamy and nearly had me self combusting. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book! I absolutely loved it!

Kameron Willoughby doesn’t exactly have the highest regard for women, first he was let down by his mother walking out on him when he was twelve and when he got older his high school girlfriend cheated on him with his then best friend, later an experience with his last girlfriend where she used him to humiliate another put an end to that relationship, making him even more distrustful of the female species.

His cousin offering him a place to stay in Sunnyville for a while gives Kameron the chance to lick his wounds in peace for a while, however what he wasn’t expecting was Layla Malone, she’s a breath of fresh air, always willing to help someone or something for example rescuing ducklings which is how he first meets her, and subsequently every time they meet she’s rushing off to help someone. Safe to say Kameron’s a grump and he’s labeled Layla as a Miss Goody Two-shoes who’s a thorn in his side, but the more they’re thrown together the more they can’t deny their attraction towards each another and it’s not long before the pair come to an arrangement where they plan on making the most of one another’s company whilst Kameron’s in Sunnyville. It soon becomes clear to them both that they’ve fallen in love with each other but as their time together comes to an end a series of miscommunications causes unnecessary grief for the couple proving just how important communication is within a relationship and how you shouldn’t always listen to others, seek answers for yourself.

Can Layla show Kameron that there’s sunshine after the rain? Or will Kameron dull her sunshine and sparkly disposition? One things for sure you’re going to want to read this fantastic addition to the The Everyday Heroes World.

This story was fun to read. Layla is quirky and full of sunshine and rainbows. She wants to save and help everyone and every animal. She has a heart of gold. Kameron moves to the town Layla lives in to lick his wounds after a bad relationship. He wasn’t expecting to find Layla. They have a ton of chemistry and their banter will keep you laughing.

Unraveled is a super hot romance and I really mean super hot - with some well placed comedy moments and it made me realise what I miss sometimes now with romances (and don't get me wrong I love the dark ones, I enjoy the complex ones and am a sucker for the ones that rip your heart out) but occasionally I just want to read a book where the heroine is sweet, when there are no angles to her, and Layla is just that - sweet - she want's to fix everything form ensuring Gertrude the duck gets across the road with her chicks, going back into a house when it might be on fire to find the cat, to taking 80 year old Mr Campos to his booty call at the retirement home but some things can't be fixed and maybe Kameron is going to be the one that just isn't fixable!

Layla and our brooding hero - hot fire fighter Kameron (or as Layla first calls him Mr Picklepuss) who has come to Sunnyville California to lick his wounds after his ex's betrayal - believing all woman are devious he isn't prepared for Layla. But Kameron is dealing with more than an ex he has deep rooted commitment issues ever since his mom walked out leaving him his dad and siblings!

Layla and Kameron are as different as the light and the dark but you need both to balance out a day and to make a great partnership!

Well done Alexia Chase loved it!

This is another fantastic addition to this amazing series and is Kameron and Layla’s story. Kameron is a grumpy, jaded, fireman with his share of baggage, and Layla wears her heart on her sleeve and will do anything to help others. These two may be total opposite but the chemistry between them is undeniable, and she is the light to his darkness. This is a well written fast paced and emotionally charged tale, with healing, trust, miscommunication, and love. I was hooked and intrigued throughout this captivating tale, and I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.

Layla is a bit absent minded and is getting over her last breakup. Kameron is giving up on relationships, love, marriage, and the thought of kids due to his mom leaving his family along with his last relationship.

Layla and Kameron’s initial meeting wasn’t very smooth...nor was their next couple of meetings. However, with each interaction their feelings toward each other started to change.

Kameron is only in town for a couple of months but they commit to a no strings attached relationship...full of hotness!! As they spend more time together their feelings for each other start to change.

As Kameron’s time in town comes to a close there are a couple misunderstandings, emotions take over and they break up. Once they clear their heads they realize they only want each other.

I highly recommend this book!

I've always been a cup half full kinda girl and I loved that Layla is that girl. She loves life, tries to make the best of everything. Kameron has been burnt many times over and Layla is a little much for his liking. These two together were fun and sweet. Every grumpy hunky man should have a woman that shows him to enjoy life and dont take it too seriously.

Alexia Chase’s Unraveled is a fast-paced, emotionally charged, sexy, contemporary romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project.

I have not read the Heroes series by Bromberg and I have never read a book by this author either so I did not know what to expect but I absolutely adored this story and loved every second of it. I fell in love with Chase's writing and her characters.

This was a really awesome small town romance with a hero, Kameron, who is only in town temporarily and the girl that grew up in a small town of Sunnyville, Layla and adores everything about it.

We also meet and get to know some other characters that Chase has written in her own series and I loved meeting them so much that I started reading them as soon as I finished this book.

When these two meet it is not love or even lust, its grumpy Kameron and happy Layla and it takes a few times when they run into each other for the attraction and lust to form. But when it does oh wow! But Kam is only in town until his cousin who is lending him his place comes back to town and Layla is a permanent resident and adores everything about her small town.

If you adore grumpy characters, Kameron is awesome. And I loved how hard he eventually falls for Layla. Layla while she seems happy and uncomplicated. She is very complicated and I loved how cute she was and her banter with Kam. Inside she is lonely and wants to find love but she has her standards.

If you love small town romances with grumpy heroes and heroines that show them the light, this was a wonderfully written story with laughs, and more!

What a great story!! Alexia Chase has become a welcome addition to the KB World and I’m here for it!

Kameron wanted a fresh start, little did he know it would involve a sweet redhead with a giant heart. Opposites to their cores Kam and Layla’s journey to love is filled with twists and turns and bumps in the road, will they find their happy ending?

Take a chance on this story, you will not regret it, there is everything you need plus a whole bunch of steam!! I loved this one!

Alexia Chase always delivers with the Insta-love, smutty and dirty talk filled sex, and a book boyfriend that will have you swooning. Although, I am more familiar with her short stories or novellas, Unraveled gave me the same feelings.

Layla, 23 year old virgin. Lives in her hometown and works at a diner while she makes plans to open her own photography studio.

Kameron, needing a change after a disastrous breakup, comes to town to house sit for his cousin. While in Sunnyville, he is working at the local Fire Department.

After a cute meet involving the town’s famous duck, Gertrude and her ducklings, they cannot get each other out of their minds.

Kameron is trying to figure out his life and has major trust issues. Layla is sweet, innocent, and a forever kind of woman. After they give in to their chemistry and agree to see where the next couple months takes them- Layla gets lessons in dirty talk, someone who lights her word on fire, and lots of O’s 😉
Kameron starts dealing with his past, trust issues and can finally see a future.

Watching Kameron and Layla open up, navigate their relationship, and fall in love was a sweet read. Add in the funny internal dialogue, witty banter, hot scenes, and you will find yourself wanting to read more.

What happens when a Holly Golightly and a Grumpy McGrumpster keep running into each other? Sparks fly! Layla Malone can’t help her sunny disposition or her innate need to help even when it’s a duck and her ducklings crossing the road. That’s just who she is. Kameron Willoughby is in town house sitting for his cousin while trying to get over a bad breakup and figure out what he wants to do next. Every time they meet, it’s like trying to mix oil and water. She wants the fairy tale forever. He wants for right now. But then they each decide to jump in feet first and figure out the rest later. The comedic moments and the heart to heart conversations. The discovery of deep feelings and the power to unravel each other. I never met the author’s characters before this book and I loved how multifaceted they were. They brought forth so many emotions. What a gift of storytelling this was!
