Reread, and it is so good, and the suspense in this book is on another level. Brooke Sivendra takes everything she built in the first two books and turns the tension up so high you can practically feel it vibrating off the page. This is the kind of story that grabs you early and doesn’t let go until the very last chapter.

James Thomas is dealing with the fallout of a mistake that haunts him—one he can’t undo and can’t walk away from. Digging up a body only to discover it’s not who he thought sends him spiraling into a hunt for the man who deceived him. But he doesn’t have the luxury of time. He’s being hunted too, and the people after him have the resources and the determination to make sure he doesn’t survive long enough to uncover the truth.

Mak is still firmly on the enemy’s radar, and the danger around her keeps tightening. Every time she thinks she understands what’s happening, another layer of secrets surfaces. She knows James and his team are keeping things from her, and she’s tired of being left in the dark. Her determination to find answers adds even more tension to a situation already stretched to its limits.

James is juggling threats from every direction—his own enemies, Mak’s enemies, and the ghosts of a past he can’t outrun. He’s trying to keep her safe while navigating a world where every wrong move could get them both killed. And now he has something he never expected: a reason to come home, a reason to fight harder, a reason to survive. But Mak’s curiosity and her growing need for the truth make her just as dangerous as the people hunting them.

This book is a full‑blown rollercoaster. Secrets, deception, nonstop action, bullets flying, car chases, plotting, planning, and enemies who keep upping their game. Every chapter adds another twist, another threat, another moment where you’re holding your breath. Brooke’s writing is sharp, intense, and completely immersive. She keeps weaving these intricate threads together in ways that feel effortless, and the world she’s created around James Thomas is one of the most gripping I’ve read.

The characters are superb—complex, flawed, loyal, and so easy to get attached to. This team feels real, and I’m so invested in them that I think about them long after I close the book. The chemistry, the danger, the emotional weight—it all hits perfectly.

Brooke is the ultimate master of this genre. The tension she builds is palpable, the pacing is relentless, and the stakes just keep rising. If you haven’t picked up this series yet, you’re missing out on something truly exceptional.

And of course, I’m already diving straight into the next book.

Sarquis is the brilliant third instalment in the James Thomas Series by Brooke Sivendra.!!! This is an exciting romantic suspense with intensity, deception, secrets, action, adventure, mystery, car chases, betrayal, obsession, manipulation, complications, time factors, Risks, interrogation, set ups, loyalty, family, shoot outs, drama, danger, threats, chemistry, passion, intrigue, tension, humour, twists, discoveries, violence, cross-continental travel, evil organisations, mind games, and palpable suspense.
As we discovered in the first instalment, Makaela Ashwood (Mak) is a criminal prosecutor who found herself in danger and ended up under the wing of James Thomas, and Thomas Security. With everything they have discovered and played out in the previous book, will have repercussions here too. There isn’t going to be a moment of peace- as they are thrust from one complication into another even more dangerous situation. She knows there are things he’s not telling her and she’s not one take that- one way or another she’s going to find out.
James Thomas has made many dangerous enemies over the years, now things get even more complicated and perilous, as his enemies team up to hunt him down. Time is running out, and he needs to figure everything out before it’s too late! What happens in this instalment makes for some really gripping reading.
This is such a fantastic story. I am really having trouble finding the words to do this book/series the justice it deserves. The characters are beyond perfect. They are complex, fully realised individuals with their own unique personalities, quirks and flaws. They had me completely invested in them and the outcome of their story from word go. I was eagerly and quite anxiously following along as the story unfolded. I spent a lot of the time on the edge of my seat, my heart pounding through all the adrenaline inducing action and jaw dropping revelations. Completely riveted by the story, I wouldn’t put it down and read it all in one sitting.
This series is one continuing story, so you really should read the previous book/s before starting on this one- as there is important information, storyline, and character introductions which you should know in order to fully appreciate this book! The best thing is that all the books in this fantastic series are available right now…. YAY!!!!! So there is no waiting between books! #WINNING
Recap:
This is so well woven, with a massive amount of clever plotting and intricate layering. I am so impressed with Ms. Sivendra’s masterful storytelling talents. She may not realise it, yet 😉 but she’s just gained an avid stalker, um I mean fan, yes, an avid fan!
You know when you read a book that is sooo good it completely captures you- sweeping you off your feet, consuming you in a way where reality is suspended and all you can think about is the story? A story that is so great you can’t stop at just one book- you need to hunt down the entire series to devour, because you’ve developed a serious addiction and need your next fix, STAT? Where you become so consumed by the addiction, you then proceed to stalk the author, and chasing down every book she’s ever written, caught in a one-clicking frenzy- only to end up on a book-binge of epic proportions, hoping like hell she’s got more books in the works because you’ll never tire of her stories- ever? Well Ms. Sivendra is one of those authors- her books are completely and irreversibly addictive. I should have a massive book-binging hangover, but I don’t! Because I loved every second of every mind-blowing minute I spent between her pages 😉. I really couldn’t get enough, and let’s face it at this stage I’d read her shopping list, just to get a ‘fix’ 😊
Highly recommended reading. Really, it’s a MUST READ, and should be on everybody’s TBR!!!

Kudos! And thank you, Ms. Sivendra!

WHEN WILL IT STOP!!!! Book three of this series just gets more in depth and more crazy and I just can't handle it! Once again the tale continues with flawless writing that draws you in deep into the story and leaves you breathless and wanting more more more! So close to finding the answers they need, to tracking down the people they need, but no.....it would never be that easy for Thomas Security! A huge twist that you never see coming happens in this book of the series. James is able to put some more pieces together but a surprise picture from his past uproots and brings even more questions and chaos to the table! Then the ending! GAH! I seriously can't leave a long review on this one because I got things to do. Like, read the next book ASAP. Once you start reading them, and you should, you will feel the same way! Until next time, James Thomas.....

Three books in and everything is on fire.

The bedroom is heating up.

The conspiracies are heating up.

The death toll is adding up and the question is will Mak, James, Deacon or the others at Thomas Security end up on that list.

The players are changing sides and it could all end very badly for Mak and James.

A page turningly good read. Do yourself a favour and start turning them.

Wow!! Sarquis (James Thomas #3) explodes this series into a another realm. Intense, riveting, and the most shocking revelations we seen, yet.

Thomas Security Company is James Thomas and his brother Deacon's life, but it's being threatened. Not only is he having to protect his client's, but now someone is after him, trying to figure who the mysterious James Thomas really is.
Then there's Mak, she's shell shocked from the revelation of her friend's betrayal and her husband's deceit. Who did she bury if her husband's alive and where has he been for the last 13 years?
It all comes to blow when James, Mak, and the security team are attacked, but that's just the beginning, because enemies are closing in fast and everyone's life is in danger.
James and Mak make a dynamic couple.
This series is captivatingly addictive.
Brooke Sivendra is a masterful action/suspense author, she has a fan for life with this reader.

>Book Review – Sarquis
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 3rd in the James Thomas series and ends in a cliffhanger. Mak and James are forging their way through their new relationship. James has to leave a lot without explanation. Mak has to give up some dangerous cases in order to protect James’ company. Even with all of the give/take, James and Mak seem to want their relationship despite the hardships.
>There is a lot in this book regarding Mak’s missing or dead husband. As James continues to investigate the threat surrounding him, the threat to Mak starts to intersect. The skills James has, along with the strength of the relationship with his brother, Deacon, really shined in this story. The details are brutal and not sugar coated. The book is still romantic, but the romance is more established.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 5 stars. The story continues to be a page turner and the romance is hot.

James is still trying to determine the truth about Mak's husband Eric. He is also having to deal with escalating danger to both Mak and himself. More is revealed in this book while more needs to be answered. I received a free ebook copy of this book from eBook Discovery. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. I still like the first book the best but I do enjoy unraveling the mysteries in this series. This book contains more steamy scenes which I prefer to skim over but I know others enjoy them. I am still not a big fan of James. He relishes inflicting pain to get answers when necessary. With Mak, he lies and omits the truth to protect her. This book definitely revolves more around James. On the plus sign, there are more scenes with Deacon and Samuel. I enjoyed getting to know them better. I am giving this 4 stars because I am still intrigued to unravel the mysteries around James and his past.

The heat level is turned up high in the James Thomas Series. James and his brother, Deacon are hunting down Saratani, and the Russians have returned from James's past. When he was involved with them the end did not go down well.
It seems the Russians think Mak,Makaela Ashwood, prosecutor who sent the mobsters to jail has a code they must have. All of this Intel relates back to Mak's ex-husband, Eric who disappeared suddenly, where abouts unknown.
James and Deacon faked Eric's funeral to try and bring him out from hiding. He still hasn't shown up, but James already has plan B in action.
This is an unbelievably riveting series, well developed complex characters, and it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Highly recommend.

Yassssss!

This series keep a getting better and better! The action was intense and gripping and equally was the relationship of Mak and James! The twists of betrayal ran high in this story and we are getting closer to "Who are you, James Thomas?".
I can't say this enough but...how can you not love James? As much as he is a force to be reckoned with, he fiercely protects his family and loved ones. His relationship with Mak has reach the happy pinnacle and he intends to keep it that way. Oh, how I love/hate cliffhangers but it is exciting because it means there's more!

Amazing! I am impressed with the author. To be able to write action, romance, and emotional scenes, but also to be able to so accurately write scenes that solely consist of conversations through an ear peace while creating suspense and drama is impressive. Samuel’s role is very technical and it’s impressive what goes into getting the information these characters need. The car chase and shoot out along with the shoot out with James and Deacon had me reading faster than normal. I am pleasantly surprised at how much I am enjoying this series

The series continues, the plot thickens and some secrets are revealed and the romance definitely heats up. If you enjoy Jason borne type adventures then this is probably for you. Especially if you like strong men and independent heroines.

The third installment in this serial novel, the author maintains the tension carried over from the first two books, and the plot proceeds more rapidly as James Thomas and his team seek to find Mak's husband, previously thought dead, as well as the person that is hunting James. Not only is the story well written, and suspenseful, it is also somewhat brutal and therefore not for sensitive readers. I received this book for free from eBook Discovery. I voluntarily post this review. This is my honest review.
