She gave up hope that she could have the Christmas she always deserved, especially after her life starts spinning out of control. What will this December hold for Qulera? Will she be able to break her bad streak with Old Saint Nick, or will the lonely ghosts of Christmas past come back to destroy her life once more?

The story is there

This book has the potential to do better. The storyline is there, but it needs more of a character build up and a slower pace. There’s was a lot of things that didn’t add up .The first being why did Sleepy boys turn on him that fast? Why did it seems like Chyna had two living brothers when in the flashback we know one died? Then she talked about singing and wanting to be in the music industry but besides that one song, she stopped singing? She never looked for her mother or brother, just focused on her sister. I would highly suggest, a rewrite. We also didn’t see the building romance between her and Sleepy.

Truly enjoyed this Xmas short story. Chyna went through so much at such a young age and throughout her time in the system. Happy when she found her oldest sister Candy and her daughter. All Chyna wanted was to find her family and have a wonderful Xmas, so when she found her sister she thought to herself that maybe this Xmas would be a good one, then a few rough patches came into play but with the help of Sleepy everything worked itself out, so sorry Ms. D got shot by that dumb girl but when Sleepy suggested that they bury her near the home so Chyna could visit whenever she wanted was a beautiful suggestion. Overall everything worked out and everyone found love making beautiful memories.

The story moved very quickly. The relationship between Sleepy and Chyna was in play prior to the beginning of the story. They were hit with 2 major conflicts that brought them together and strengthened their relationship.
I think the author had a good concept. There was not a lot of time spent on character development or adding a great deal of substance to the story. But, it was a nice change to see a plus-size heroine being the love of someone's life as well as desirable, and not the butt of jokes or the comedic sidekick. If you want a quick surface romance read, you may enjoy this story.

Love it

Wow Qulera went through a lot growing up and she overcame all of it!! I’m so glad Sleepy came into her life because they were meant to be and I’m also happy that she found her sister and niece. It would of been happier if she found her mom and brother but I loved the book!!

Enjoyed it!

I really enjoyed reading this book and was definitely happy with the ending. I liked the development of the characters and how everything played. The author definitely did a great job writing this book.

A good read

This was a story comprised of childhood hurt but ending in love. There were many dynamics in the life of Chyna, but she handled it with grace and style. It is always good to read stories that spotlight the beauty of curvy women.

Family ties

It was a nice quick read. I usually stay away from the "hood" books because they seem to go on forever. But this one was a stand alone and wrapped up really nice.
