Slow Cook All Day by Paula Jones is one of those cookbooks that is perfect for the family or person who wants a cooked meal but does not want to stand over a stove or have the oven on a hot day. I love using my slow cooker, it has paid for itself thousand times over.
Chapter One: Cooking Slow When You're on the Go, Did you know that the slow cooker has been around since the '70s? It was originally known as a simmer crock from the '40s that was used exclusively for beans, now I didn't know that.
Chapter Two: Soups, Stews, and Chilis. Chicken Stew, French Onion Soup, and Pumpkin Chili are some of the recipes.
Chapter Three: Vegetarian and Vegan for those of you that don't or won't eat meat. Tomato Basil Soup, Butternut Squash Soup and Loaded Slow Cooked Sweet Potatoes included in this chapter.
Chapter Four: Chicken, lots of good looking recipes in this chapter. Chicken Tikka Marsala, Lemon Butter Chicken, or Chicken Pot Pie.
Chapter Five: Beef Pork and Lamb. Classic Meat Loaf in the slow cooker? Yes, please. You can do Pork Tenderloin with Potatoes, Corned Beef, and Cabbage, Bulgogi among others.
Chapter Six: Homemade Staples include making broths, stocks, barbecue sauces, and spaghetti sauce.
Lastly, there is a measurement conversion chart. If you are like me, once in a while I need to convert metric to standard measurements.
I will be using this cookbook a lot as using my slow cooker is a favorite way to cook.
I received a copy of this cookbook for review purposes.
