The Plot #5 begins in 1674, with the burning of the Jansen woman’s body after she didn’t make it through the harsh winter. The next year the village has no crops to harvest, and Vitus Blaine sees his daughter, Augusta, with a boy he dislikes, Malthe Rasmussen. He is haunted and eventually goes out to see what is making all the noise in the forest, and suddenly a house appears. A monster makes demands of Vitus, and after four days, he returns to his village. He murders Malthe, making it look like suicide. While the harvest improves, he carries a severe worry and is concerned for his heartbroken daughter.

We flash to the present day, and Chase has woken up. I can’t remember if this is a dream or something he read or if he was drowning. It’s been a while since I read the previous issue. But his niece and nephew open the door to rescue him, and as they try to flee from the house, water surrounds the front steps, making it too dangerous to leave.

I missed this comic, over my brief comic hiatus. I’m happy to get back into it.

Nice start to book 2

You really need to read the first 4 issues but this gives good backstory and I expect the next issue to get back to the present and continue a very exciting series.
