The Cattleman Meets His Match by Sherri Shackelford Cowboy John Elder needs a replacement crew of cattle hands to drive his longhorns to Kansas—he just never figured they'd be wearing petticoats. Yet despite Moira's declaration of independence, the feisty beauty evokes John's every masculine instinct to protect, defend…marry?
Second Chance Hero by Winnie Griggs To help his dying sister, Nate Cooper once broke the law—and he's regretted it ever since. So when the ex-con turned saddler saves Verity Leggett’s daughter from imminent harm, he's shocked to be called a hero. But when his secrets come to light, will Verity be able to get over his past and see Nate for the caring man he's become?
Escape to the Old West and late 1800s in this dual-story-book by Shackelford and Griggs, you won't regret it.
Both stories have strong female leads with men who are willing to work with instead of against, in the true sense of partnership or teaming. Loved that!
Great descriptions and well-paced, just enough danger to keep it interesting without becoming saccharine-sweet, grounded in scriptural principals and redemption, The Cattleman Meets His Match and Second Chance Hero are well worth the time invested in reading.
I won a copy of the book from the authors in a drawing; the review is my own.
A Texas cowboy and a saddler find love on the Texas plains.
Enjoyed being with Sherri and the Elder boys. Winnie was a new author for me.John and Moira held a lot of excitement. John got more then he bargained for when he met Moira and the girls. They became a big help to him and Pops. Along the way John fell in love with Moira and the girls. Verity and Nate story was sweet. She wasn't in the mood for love. But as they were around each other love came into being. They had there ups and downs. But in the end all came out right.
