I have no idea what to make of this. Bad journalism? For sure, but it's like the author can't even think straight. Like he wants some of these obnoxious claims to be true so bad, he might sometimes forget to think something through properly or simply 'forget' to research any of the claims.
Thus, the author makes claims without backing them up with any form of evidence, whether through accounts (which he would do for other claims) or actual facts, which kind of left me wondering throughout the whole book how much of his assumptions and other claims were truthful or just used for their shock effect. The worst claim he made was probably that Queen Elisabeth would have killed (shot) her husband, Albert the First, and that him falling from a rock in Marche-Les-Dames is a lie. I’ve asked around myself about this matter, and googled, but I strongly doubt the veracity of this claim. To make matters worse, this claim was made at the very start of the book, throwing its own credibility out of the window. There's been many studies done that point out the unlikelihood of a murder.
