Hall had played the VRMMORPG, Sky Realms Online, since beta. During one gaming session, a freak accident traps Hall and other players in the game. They awaken to find out their bodies are comatose and they have been downloaded fully into the virtual world. Even worse, the rules have changed, they've been forced back to level 1, and permadeath might be possible.
Join Hall and his growing circle of friends and enemies, both Players and NPCs, as they discover that Sky Realms Online is not the same game they knew. New lands, new foes, and new mysteries.
Grayhold (Book 1): Hall finds himself trapped in the game world, but not the game that he remembered. Things have changed. Hall gets his first quests, meets his first friends, and finds what could be his future home.
Silverpeak (Book 2): Now the Lord of a ruined village, Hall takes his first steps toward turning Skara Brae into a real village. A journey to the city of Silver Peak Keep involves Hall and friends in a war between guilds.
Axestorm (Book 3): Skara Brae is growing and it's time to take the next step. Hall and companions journey to the Dwarf fortress of Axestorm Hall in search of an airship. There they encounter more mysteries and another Player, Iron, who is working to conqueror the entire island of Huntley.
Born and raised in the granite state of New Hampshire, Troy is a lifelong and avid reader of comic books and novels (mostly in the fantasy, sci-fi and adventure/thriller genres). The ongoing serial storytelling methods of comic books and television has always fascinated him and provided inspiration for his writing. He’s always had a love of creating and world building and dreams of someday seeing his creations expressed across all media: books, comic books, movies, TV and even toys.
When not writing, Troy can be found outside hiking, kayaking or out back at the bonfire with beer in hand. Don’t expect to bother him during football season, especially when the Patriots are playing.
Sky Realms Online: Grayhold: A LitRPG Adventure, my first read/listen from author Troy Osgood . An enjoyable read, especially for fans of LitRGG & FRP. I was given an Audible copy of this book in June of this year and am just now getting around to reading & reviewing it. Silver Peak (Sky Realms Online, #2), my second read/listen from author Troy Osgood. An enjoyable read, especially for fans of LitRGG & FRP. The story levels out in this book, leading up to Axestorm (Sky Realms Online, #3). Axestorm: Sky Realms Online, Book 3, my third read/listen from author Troy Osgood . An enjoyable read, especially for fans of LitRGG & FRP. I especially enjoyed the narrative talents of Pavi Proczko whose voice made an enjoyable book even better. Now I need to get Greenfire (Sky Realms Online #4). (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
A successful purchase and a worthy listen as i enjoy the narration on this and the characters brought to life are very likeable with a good development between quests and other relationships they have keeping this a easy listen without too many stats slowing the pace down. Having a set of 3 also helps in the flow as there is no wait to see what else happens next always something i like in a weighty listen.
The character and world building in this series is worth the price of admission. There is so much care put into building every part of this series and you just feel like it all goes together. Book 3 was the payoff in the first part (1-3) of this series. Looking forward to book 4.
Read through book 1 and a fourth of 2 and just didn't want to read the rest. The story wasn't half bad for a LITRPG, but every paragraph or two I am reading more game mechanics in details thatdistracts from the story.
The one thing I like most about this book is the slower skill development. A lot of books get there main characters OP, but this is closer to real life.
After recently discovering Pavi Proczko, it was a no brainer to jump on this book! I felt like this was more of a "G" rated litRPG, than I had suspected, well... I do tend to forget that fighting with swords, and battle axes maybe a bit much for some middle readers, so it might be leaning towards "PG" status... But that's not a bad thing it just surprised me! All the players, who survived, find themselves trapped in this game, after the game crashes while playing. Stuck in limbo for 2 years, without any hope of succor. Hall's been playing the game since beta testing, receives a final notice from the game Dev. That message pretty much said "Sorry you're stuck, cesť la vie!" Instead of freaking out, Hall decides to just play the game, since the game is now his "reality"... Hall, finds himself demoted essentially, back to the entry level status of a new gamer! As Hall had always played as a spear-wielding Skirmisher, he decided that would be the right choice of character, and he knew the half-elf avatar the best. And Hall left the bad news behind. He accidently bumps into another player Roxhard, who's avatar is a tanky Dwarf... they team-up and go off a questing, but little do they know how much the game has changed in the 2 years it had been "off line". Hall and Roxhard never looked back once they got going! I immediately became sucked into the game and Hall's storied life.
Bk2 Silverpeak
Little did Hall know that going to Silverpeak to purchase some much-needed supplies would end up in a quest chain. A chain that would change Skara Brae forever.
Bk3 Axestorm
What started out as a whim to possibly get a airship at the Dwarven hold of Axestorm ended up as a quest chain for Roxhard as he searches for his dwarven heritage. It actually seems that Sky Realms Online might be tied closer to reality than one would've thought. But by following the Roxhard's quest it leads to an accidental meeting with Iron and his group of players. And lines have been drawn!
So yeah grab the set, sit back, and enjoy Pavi Proczko performance as he tells you about Hall and Roxhard and never look back!
